A Banner Season in Bobcat Nation Four Teams Earn League Championships By Marcia Eldredge

I

t was a banner fall season for Brewster athletics. The boys and

girls’ varsity soccer teams and the girls’ varsity field hockey team earned Lakes Region Championships while the varsity golf team

earned the Maine Association of Independent School Athletic Directors Championship. It is the first time in school history that Brewster has earned four league titles in one season.

“As a school, we are incredibly proud of our teams for having such

success on the playing fields this fall,” said Athletic Director Matt Lawlor. “It is a reflection of the hard work the coaches and players alike have put

great accomplishments.”

The girls’ field hockey team finished their regular season with an 11-3-1 record, and earned the #2 seed in the NEPSAC tournament where they made it to the semifinals before falling to Proctor Academy.

The girls’ varsity soccer team ended their regular season undefeated at 140-2. They earned the #1 seed in the NEPSAC tournament and went all the way to the finals before falling to Pingree School 3-1 – their first and only loss of the 2014 season.

The boys’ varsity team ended their regular season play with a 12-5-1 record. Despite their winning season, they did not earn a bid to the New England tournament this year.

The varsity golf team finished their season with a 6-2 record. This very juniors will be a force in the coming seasons.
