Jay Hogue

Assistant Coach Second Season Jay Hogue, who spent the bulk of his coaching career in club gymnastics before joining the college ranks in recent years, enters his second season on the Georgia staff. Hogue helps direct Georgia’s efforts on vault and bars, where the Gym Dogs finished the 2013 season ranked eighth and third in the nation, respectively. Under Hogue’s direction, Georgia gymnasts won a total of 10 AllAmerica honors on vault and bars in 2013. Three different Gym Dogs Brandie Jay, Lindsey Cheek and Chelsea Davis - earned first team honors on vault and competed in the NCAA Individual Event Finals, and four Georgia gymnasts earned All-America honors on bars. Chelsea Davis was a first team All-American on vault and bars, and she spent a majority of the 2013 season ranked No. 1 in the country on bars. Also in 2013, Brittany Rogers shared the SEC title on bars. Before joining the Georgia staff in the summer of 2012, Hogue served as an assistant coach at the University of Denver for two years. Philip Ogletree Assistant Coach Second Season

Philip Ogletree, who has 13 years of coaching experience in the Southeastern Conference, enters his second season on the Georgia staff. He helps direct Georgia’s efforts on bars and floor, where the Gym Dogs finished the 2013 season ranked third and 10th in the nation, respectively. Seven All-America honors were earned by Georgia gymnasts on bars and floor in 2013. Chelsea Davis, who spent most of the season ranked No. 1 nationally on the uneven bars, earned first team All-America honors on bars, while Brittany Rogers, Shayla Worley and Christa Tanella received second team accolades. Rogers shared the SEC bars title. Under Ogletree’s direction, Noel Couch was a second team All-American on floor in 2013. Georgia posted the highest team bars score in 12 meets in 2013. Before coming to Georgia in the summer of 2012, Ogletree served as an assistant coach at LSU for 12 seasons. Ogletree was a key part of LSU’s success from 2001-2012, primarily coaching the Tigers on the uneven bars while also serving as the recruit-

Cassidy McComb Volunteer Coach First Season

Former Georgia standout Cassidy McComb was named volunteer coach prior to the 2014 season after serving as an intern for the Gym Dogs in 2013. A member of the 2008 and 2009 national championship teams, McComb was a four-time All-American during her UGA career. She was also the 2008 SEC Freshman of the Year and the

Under his direction, Denver gymnastics earned a total of eight WAC event specialist of the week honors on vault and bars in 2012. Hogue’s vault squad tied the school record with a 49.425 against Air Force. Denver’s Moriah Martin was named the North Central Region Gymnast of the Year, in large part due to her success on vault. Under Hogue’s watch, she finished ranked in the top-10 nationally on the event. In Hogue’s first season at Denver, the Pioneers knocked off Arkansas, Nebraska and Ohio State, and were ranked No. 2 in the North Central Region. A professional member of USA Gymnastics for 25 years, Hogue spent the bulk of his career at Orlando Metro Gymnastics, where he helped develop optional gymnasts and coached at the U.S. Classics and Junior Olympic National Championships. Prior to his time at Denver, Hogue coached for three years at Broadway Gymnastics in Oviedo, Fla. Hogue graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with an emphasis in engineering and physics with a minor in mathematics, and earned his associate of arts degree from Valencia Community College in 1993. A native of Orlando, Fla., Hogue and his wife Lisa have two sons, Pierce, 8 and Colin, 5.

His bars squads ranked in the top-10 nationally each year from 2004-10, including a No. 3 ranking in 2005 and a No. 4 ranking in 2009. LSU gymnasts earned a total of 16 All-America honors on the uneven bars under Ogletree’s watch, including a school-record three gymnasts in 2005 and 2010. In 2010, two LSU gymnasts finished in the top-five on bars at the NCAA Individual Event Finals, and the Tigers posted the second-highest bars total in the NCAA prelims. Ogletree, a member of the UGA men’s gymnastics team from 198082, was named the NCAA Central Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2005 and helped lead the Tigers to the NCAA Super Six in 2008 and 2009. A native of Atlanta, Ogletree also previously coached at the Georgia Gymnastics Academy in Lawrenceville and the Atlanta School of Gymnastics in Tucker. He arrived at LSU in the fall of 2000 with 18 years of coaching experience, including 11 with Level 10 gymnasts in the state of Georgia. Ogletree graduated from Georgia State in 1992 with a degree in early childhood education. He and his wife Jill have two children, Bridgett and Jake.

2011 SEC all-around champion. McComb, who serves as the team’s choreographer, finished her career as Georgia’s all-time leading scorer on floor exercise with 567.9625 points, and she is 11th on the total points list with 1,857.1375. She was voted the team’s MVP in 2010 and 2011. A native of Henderson, Nev., McComb graduated from UGA in May 2011 with a degree in Child and Family Development with a minor in Housing and Consumer Economics. She is also a professional licensed cosmetologist and attended University Academy of Hair Design in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
