CHEVRON visualization 1 ~ fall 2015 Combining the mediums of hand crafting and computer-adided modeling, this project was a twist on classic oragmi. A complete 12”x36” sheet of cardboard was sliced and folded in on itself to form an abstract architecture reminisent of the rowhome. After tactile experimentation, recreation of the folding process in rhino adapted the 3d object into 2d representational drawings. The project ultimately culminated in a 20”x30” board for Design, and a series of presentation slides for Visualization.



EMBRACE design 3 ~ fall 2015 In sympathy with the current social crisis, Philadelphia has open her arms to the syrian refugees fleeing in search of comfort and acceptance. This “vertical village� embodies the maternal relationship between the City of Brotherly Love and her newest citizens, offering an embrace of understanding, protection, and goodwill. The strong rectilinear massing swaddles the organic, curving volume, yet accomodates this gentle form in the same manner which the Philadelphia community shall be influenced by the newcomers.

COHABITATE design 4 ~ spring 2015 Through both form and function, the Blue Bell Park Nature Center demonstrates the harmonious potential for symbiotic cohabitation between nature and humanity. The two-layered exterior wall system provides apertures for native animals and insects to live in close proximity to the visiting families. The undulating form creates cavities where the flying creatures can congregate for the viewing pleasure of visitors. Behind the habitat wall, the multi-layered glass enclosure layer provides necessary climate protection and perfect views of the animal activity.

Inspired by the bee honeycomb geometry, a hexagonal framework of EcoResin supports the removable inserts. Varying aperture sizes accommodate different organisms, encouraging birds to nest, butterflies to form cocoons, and bees to make colonies

PLUG & PLAY Design 6 ~ spring 2017 By the year 2050, humanity will be facing a serious resource scarcity. As such, there must be an avid pursuit of new and better techniques in living and working sustainably. Architecture can be at the forefront of this movement. A revolutionary approach to building design and function, the Plug & Play Center in Williamsburg will serve as a living laboratory for the future. The research conducted at the center will greatly benefit the local community and the rest of the world, making known the latest developments in building performance and sustainable living. The form and program will be responsive to the changing demands of the community and world at large, This paradigm of selfsustaining building performance will aide in the development of new methodologies to harnessing energy, passive energy design, and food production. A dynamic facade will take advantage of the specific environmental conditions of the site, and support experimentation in sustainable methodologies in building performance. A modular system will allow multiple experiments with multiple methods at a single time, with easy exchanging of panels on the faceted framing and potential for future expansion. Modularity allows for progressive adjustments to focus on each system as social/environmental/technological demands justify emphasis on certain systems over others.

MEP System HVAC System The entire building is composed of a series of elements. Each contains the necessary structure, enclosure, and finish layers to be isolated or connected to other elements. This connections occurs through a newly developed plug system, which provides necessary structural connection while allowing MEP systems to transfer between elements. The modularity of the building ensures efficiency of construction, and adaptability of form and function.
