Message from Mayor Kevin Davis
On behalf of Brantford City Council and City staff, I am very pleased to have this opportunity to welcome you to our community and tell you about our diverse and growing city. Brantford is ideally situated in the heart of Ontario’s economic engine, the Greater Golden Horseshoe region. Designated as an urban growth centre in the provincial growth plan, Brantford’s current population is approximately 100,000 and is projected to reach 163,000 by 2041. With our diversified manufacturing sector and continually growing postsecondary presence – including Laurier Brantford and Conestoga College, Brantford is consistently recognized as a top investment location for business and one of the best places to buy real estate in Canada. Businesses of all sizes have recently placed eyes on Brantford and the surrounding area for opportunity for expansion in multiple sectors and industries. Delivering big city amenities with smalltown feel, Brantford offers many unique advantages for living, working, studying, investing, and doing business, including an accessible and supportive local government and business community, with infrastructure capacity to support future growth. Our prime location along a major transportation corridor, with direct and convenient access to Highway 403, Via Rail, and GO Bus services, allows residents and industry easy access to major urban centres, continues to be a major asset. We are committed to establishing strong business relationships, developing new partnerships and fostering an environment to encourage growth that will meet the demands of our increasingly expanding community. Brantford’s City Council is dedicated to working collectively with all levels of government and the Chamber of Commerce to pave the way for new business and success in Brantford. As the voice of business, the Chamber of Commerce Brantford-Brant is highly regarded and a truly valued partner of the City. Among the many outcomes of the past unprecedented years is an even greater appreciation for the services and experiences that our local businesses provide to improve the quality of life of our residents, students and visitors. We look forward to continuing to provide our support to the Chamber in our shared goal to promote economic growth and prosperity in Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississauga of the Credit and we extend our very best wishes for your continued success throughout 2022.
