Bramhall Offers a Friendly Welcome Once rated the least loneliest place in Britain, Bramhall is home to around 25,500 residents. The village has a strong community atmosphere and has long been considered one of the friendliest places in the UK. From 1974, Bramhall has been a suburb of Stockport, Greater Manchester. The village can be dated back to as early as the AngloSaxon period. There is even a reference to Bramhall in the Domesday Book as ‘Bramale’. Bramhall has many beautiful properties found in pretty streets that make ideal family homes or a base for busy young professionals. There are four residential estates, the Little Australia Estate, Dairyground estate, New House Farm estate and Parkside estate. Little Australia got its name after all the roads in this area were named after towns in Australia. Its largest road, Meadway, is home to a number of care homes, shops and car parking. Bramhall train station is on the main line from Manchester to London via Macclesfield and StokeonTrent making it an ideal base for professionals working in the capital. For visitors to the village, there is much to see and do. Bramhall Hall is a black and white timberframed, 14th century Tudor manor house that has recently been restored. It is surrounded by 70 acres of parkland which the Ladybrook flows through towards Cheadle and Bramhall Hall. The Hall is often used as a venue for weddings, conferences and banquets. The Hall is open to the public and guided tours are available. Bramhall’s village square is where you will find a large number of restaurants, bars, cafes and clothes shops, along with hairdressers and beauty salons. More shops can be found along the main roads through the village. For those who like to stay active there are two golf courses, three tennis centres and a recreation centre.
