Parade of Lights
Welcome the holidays in style Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020
Where can you find a parade with sparkling floats decorated in holiday lights and fireworks to light up the crisp winter sky? In Pine River! The annual Parade of Lights event is a festive way to welcome the holidays each year. The Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, event features the parade at 5 p.m. down Barclay Avenue, featuring a theme and Pine River Chamber of Commerce gift certificates worth $100 for Best Use of Lights in theme and Overall Best Use of Lights. After the parade, an open house at the Pine River Chamber Information Center offers free hot chocolate, hot apple cider and Christmas cookies. The
First Lutheran Church youth group sells hot dogs and nachos. Find a yuletide bonfire just outside the Historic Depot and chamber information center to keep you warm for the fireworks. At 6:30 p.m., a fireworks display crackles in the night air behind Pine River State Bank. Earlier in the day, various events include

Lunch with Santa at the Pine River American Legion and Pine River Market Square farmers and crafters market at The Warehouse. It’s also "Shop Local Day" Dec. 12 in Pine River. Pick up a passport, get it stamped by participating businesses and be eligible to win a $200 grand prize at the end of the day. On Saturday, Dec. 5, the Pine River American Legion hosts its annual arts and craft sale, First Lutheran Church hosts its cookie walk, and United Methodist Church hosts its Community Children's Shopping Day, where children in sixth grade and under can choose from a variety of $1 gifts and get free wrapping. Celebrate the holidays in Pine River at this Pine River Chamber-sponsored event!
