The Mall at Cribbs Causeway’s Bristol Fashion Week will launch with a sonic boom at Aerospace Bristol
T
o mark the upcoming launch of the new museum, Aerospace Bristol has invited The Mall to partner with them for an exciting season of Bristol Fashion Week with a very special launch event. The South West’s biggest fashion event will be transported for one night only to Aerospace Bristol - the new home of the last Concorde ever to fly – for an exclusive VIP launch show. The event will take place on Wednesday 27th September in Aerospace Bristol’s Concorde Hangar, under the wings of the iconic supersonic jet. Lloyd Burnell, executive director of Aerospace Bristol said: “With the most glamorous aircraft the world has ever seen on display in a truly unique event space, Aerospace Bristol’s Concorde Hangar is the ideal venue for Bristol Fashion Week’s launch event. We’re delighted to host this stylish occasion under the wings of Concorde and celebrate the upcoming launch of the new museum, which will take visitors on a fascinating journey through more than a century of remarkable aviation achievements.” Tickets for the Aerospace Bristol launch show are £25 each and available to buy now* via The Mall’s website (www.mallcribbs. com). There is also the option to add a donation to Aerospace Bristol and help the new museum to achieve its aims of inspiring young people to pursue careers in science and technology and reach for the stars. Maria Crayton, head of marketing at Bristol Fashion
Week said: “The opening of Aerospace Bristol is one of the most significant events in the South West this year and we’re thrilled to have been invited to partner with them on this. Concorde not only provides the backdrop to our launch show but also the concept for the whole of fashion week in the pavilion. Concorde could fly to New York in 3.5 hours so we’re taking the audience on the shopping trip of a lifetime to the big apple!” Following the launch event at Aerospace Bristol, Bristol Fashion Week will fly back to the fashion pavilion at The Mall for a further 13 catwalk shows, taking place between Thursday 28th September and Sunday 1st October. Audiences will be immersed in the full Concorde experience and taken on a ‘flight of fashion’ to style capital of the world, New York. This season’s hottest trends will be paired with iconic New York locations, and audiences transported on a fashion tour of the city. * N.B. The show is currently flagged as being “sold out”, but a second release of tickets is scheduled for 4th September.
I’m 46 and have been a resident of Bradley Stoke for the last 22 years. I will be taking part in the 2018 Virgin London Marathon following a successful application for a charity place in the team for the Mental Health Foundation. Promoting mental health awareness is something that I feel very passionate about, and personal experience has highlighted the benefits of spreading this awareness. I started running in April 2016 and from then it has become an irreplaceable part of my life. You may have seen me running about Bradley Stoke with fellow members of one of the running groups I have joined – North Bristol Running Group. My own mental health has benefited immensely from taking up running. To help share this
benefit I have since become an England Athletics Mental Health Ambassador for Staple Hill Runners, another group to which I belong. Over the next few months, I will be going ‘all out’ with events and activities in order to reach my fundraising target of £1,800! This will be a huge achievement and will also secure my place to run with the team. Come and join me at my first event, a karaoke dance night at Almondsbury Sports and Social Club! (See poster on right; call or text me on 07876 194553 for tickets) If you would like to show your support donations can be made via my fundraising page: uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ DebraFry Debra Fry Bradley Stoke
