Jewish Manningham Tour

The Fairytale Hairdresser and The Princess and The Frog

Take a tour of a district that helped transform Bradford from an emerging town to a world-renowned industrial hotspot in the 19th century. Local historian, Nigel Grizzard, brings the city’s Jewish heritage to life as he tells the story behind the suburb of Manningham. Beginning and ending at Bradford Reform Synagogue, this enlightening two-mile tour will take you through what was once known as the Jewish Quarter as you hear about how Bradford’s name was made through the pure grit and determination of its 19th-century European residents. Please note that comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are advised.
