Gender Pay Gap Report 2019 Introduction Employers with 250 or more employees are required by law to carry out Gender Pay reporting under the Equality Act 2010 - Gender Pay Gap Regulations. This report provides an analysis of data as a snap shot date of 05 April 2019. It includes the difference in the mean and median pay between men and women. There is also a requirement under the regulation to report on the number of men and women in each quartile pay bands.
What is the Gender Pay Gap and why are we reporting it? The gender pay gap is the difference between the hourly rate of pay of a male employee and a female employee (as set out in the regulations) expressed as a percentage. The gender pay gap is reported on both mean (average) and median (midpoint) basis. The Gender Pay Gap differs from equal pay. Equal pay deals with the pay differences between men and women who carry out the same or similar jobs, work rated as equivalent under a job evaluation scheme; or work of equal value.The Gender Pay shows the differences in the average pay between men and women.
