elcome to Maple Lake Stock Farms 10th Annual Bull Sale. We are pleased to offer another line up of bulls that will work. We develop these males to be herd sires that improve the commercial herd production. Female progeny are herd builders and terminal progeny will have improved weaning weights. Our satisfied, repeat buyers are testimony of Maple Lake’s quality bull power. They are adding Maple Lake sires to their bull battery with positive, lasting results. To give you concrete data of bull calf weight gains. Weighed August 25 - before creep for a 3.54 lb/day gain. Weighed October 15 - after quiet weaned in pasture with creep of corn and oats, 3.85 lb/day gain. The results were surprising even to us. Only a 0.31 lb per day increase on creep feed. Feed to grow our bulls over the winter is a TMR with a high fiber content, alfalfa corn silage. There is no barley in their ration. Maple Lake bulls are physically fit and ready to go to work. The EPDs alone are not an effective tool to evaluate our program, as our progeny is in the commercial sector. Our Actual Production Data of weight gain and percentage the dam weaned, conformation - udders and depth and hip, longevity, are our tools. Proven progeny is the proof that our program works.
