“Within every living child exists the most precious bud of self-identity. To search this out and foster it with loving care, that is the essence of education for the child with autism - Dr. Kitahara

New Classrooms

Fitness Center

We began as a dream and with the help and support of Japanese businesses and organizations we became a reality. From the construction of the Mitsubishi Library to the Swimming Pool Complex and so many other critical projects, A foundation was created that brought with it state-of-the-art programs to serve children and young adults with autism from around the world.

Technology Enhancements

Today the Boston Higashi School stands as a vibrant community with essential programs to better educate and provide vocational opportunities for individuals with autism. The additions of a Fitness Center, Auto Detailing Center, School Store, and Interactive Technology in every classroom help to create an environment that is always stimulating and presenting new challenges to our students.

Our work continues and the dreams for a brighter future for our students and for those students yet to come are never ending. Plans are underway to renovate all the living room and bedroom spaces in the dormitories. New music and art spaces are in the works. Plans to link our nature trails to community based natural trails are in the early planning stages. Early Childhood Programming (ages 3-5) will begin in early 2019, further expanding our outreach from younger ages well into adulthood.
