Snapcodes have been sent to families of current D100 students via mail, email and text message. Proof of residency is required for students entering kindergarten, sixth and ninth grades, students who previously used an affidavit for enrollment and students with an address change.

The City of Belvidere recently requested proposals to determine whether there could be a cost savings for residents if the City were to have one franchised residential garbage collector. The proposals received demonstrated that Rock River Disposal could provide the service, with this franchise, less expensively than solid waste haulers were currently charging residents.

• Effective June 1, 2024, Rock River Disposal, a sister company of Marengo Disposal Company (MDC), will be the only residential solid waste hauler within the City. Residents must utilize Rock River Disposal for their garbage hauling needs and may not utilize other garbage services.

• The base fee for garbage service will be $25.35 per month. Additionally, there is a $3.00 per month discount for senior heads of household (65 years of age or older).

• Residents should call Rock River Disposal directly to establish the proper billing account, as it will be handled directly exclusively by Rock River Disposal. The City is not providing the solid waste hauling service.

• Residents will receive one garbage cart and one recycle cart from Rock River Disposalat no cost. Because Rock River Disposal is affiliated with MDC, those that have MDC garbage and recycle cans will likely keep those containers unless they are damaged. Rock River Disposal will deliver carts as needed beginning the last two weeks of May.

• Residents who have a concern regarding billing from existing waste hauling services who will no longer provide the service after June 1, 2024 should call those providers directly. The City does not have any record of which existing providers provide services to specific addresses within the City and therefore,residents must contact their current providers directly.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

On Tuesday, April 30th from 10:30-11:00 am a meeting conducted by Belvidere CUSD #100 will take place at 1201 5th Avenue, Belvidere, IL 61008.

The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the district plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools and home schools within the district for the 2024-2025 school year.

If you are a parent of a student who is home-schooled or attends a private school, and is also identified as a student with a disability within the boundaries of Belvidere CUSD #100 you are encouraged to attend. Sandra “Sandie” Binka

Sandra “Sandie” Binka passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024, in Belvidere, IL. Born to Robert and Barbara (McGraw) Wagner on the 31 of August of 1969 in Belvidere, Illinois. Sandie graduated from Belvidere High School. She became a CNA, and eventually found her passion in transportation through the Nestle Corporation where she

was working toward her bachelors in transportation logistics before being diagnosed with breast cancer. Through her work, Sandie traveled the world, seeing many countries and experiencing the different cultures. Sandie enjoyed golfing, going to concerts, planning trips with family and friends, and spending time with her cherished dogs, Chloe and Cash. Sandie is survived by her parents, Robert (Bob) and Barbara (Barb); her loving husband of 24 years, Joe; brother Chad (Janet) Wagner; nephews and niece Dylan, Owen, Cody, Machaela, and Brenden; great niece Emma Jo; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held from 1pm to 3pm at the American Legion in Belvidere, IL on April 27th. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the breast cancer foundation in honor of Sandie.

MARGARET A. PARRISH

Margaret A. Parrish, 78, passed away peacefully in her home on April 8th, 2024. Marge worked at Capron Manufacturing for 30 years, she loved her job. She was liked and loved by so many. She married Bill Parrish, November 3rd, 1963.

She is survived by her four daughters and son; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her mother & father; brothers and sister. No services are scheduled per Marge’s wishes.
