Hurst ’12 Named Among Nation’s Top Tight Ends Hayden Hurst ’12, a sophomore on the University of South Carolina football team, was named among 30 candidates on the John Mackey Midseason Watch List in October. The postseason award goes to the nation’s top player at the tight end position. At the completion of the regular season, Hurst ranked second in receiving for the Gamecocks with 42 receptions for 530 yards. South Carolina played USF in the Birmingham Bowl on December 29. Hurst is a former professional baseball player who played in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ organization before walking-on to the South Carolina football team in the summer of 2015. He earned both a scholarship and a starting position in 2016.

Mariah ‘Ellie’ Skinner ’11 married Aaron Reninger.

Mariah ‘Ellie’ Skinner was married to Aaron Reninger on October 22, 2016 on the San Jose Campus. Ellie graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2015 with a degree in Hospitality Management. She currently works as a nanny. Aaron graduated with a degree in Criminology from Florida State University and is employed at Gallagher Bassett as a Resolution Manager. Ellie and Aaron reside in Jacksonville and will welcome a baby boy in January. Cody Evans was back on the San Jose Campus in mid-November to speak with upper school Psychology students about forensic psychology. (See sidebar on previous page.) Nathan Woods has lived in Jacksonville since he was two years old and was a “lifer” at Bolles. Nathan attended Florida State University, where he interned with the English department as a student editor for the department’s newsletter and was among the founding brothers of the school’s Delta Chi fraternity chapter. He graduated from FSU in 2016 with a degree in creative writing. During his time at FSU, Nathan also launched The Coastal in late 2015 aiming to provide a voice to a new generation of Jacksonville residents, and to promote unity and development within the area.
