This singular notion became the seed to a bigger vision that emerged in the years ahead. While it may sound simple to grow your own food, the more one actually tries to do it at this level, the complexity of achieving it reveals itself. It requires intricate understanding of plants, animals, the soil, water, equipment, and what can be grown, harvested, consumed and likely stored over the course of each year. Farm started after he and his wife, Robin, bought the farm to become, well farmers, a rather significant change from the corporate world they built their careers in. Their initial vision was quite humble, too. Becoming farmers would allow their family to know exactly what they ate because they intended to grow or raise virtually everything they ate.
