Hurricane season brings with it a formidable force of nature that can wreak havoc on communities, leaving behind a trail of destruction. With the increasing frequency and intensity of hurricanes in recent years, it has become more crucial than ever to prioritize preparedness. Taking proactive measures and being well-prepared can significantly minimize the risks associated with these powerful storms and safeguard lives, property, and the overall well-being of affected regions.

The South Florida graduates were surprised by Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) with The NextEra Energy Scholarship for Black Students in the Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering (SECME), a merit award of up to $20,000 for college-bound high school seniors who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university for the upcoming academic year.
