WhileonatriptoViennaItravelledtolocationswhereBeethovenwasreportedlyinspired towritehisSixthSymphony(thePastoral).Ithoughttomyselfthatonecouldseehowall thisbeautifulnaturewouldinspiresuchawonderfullyoptimisticpieceofmusic.ButIwondered whatwouldhavehappenedifoneday,whilehewasononeofhiswalks,hecameuponapath leadingintothewoodswithasignthatproclaimed Do Not Enter.ItbeingBeethoven,Idoubt thatwouldhavestoppedhim.But,thiswasnotthekindofplacethatwouldinspireaworkwith thesubtitle"Pastoral."No,nono...thiswasafardarkerandmoremysteriouslandscape.One couldonlyimaginewhatwouldhavecomefromtheMaster'spenhadthisbeenhisinspiration. Now,theinspirationwasmine.
