THE BOTANICAL REPAIR™ CONSULTATION

Discover Needs
To determine whether a guest is a Botanical Repair ™ guest, conduct a consultation that determines whether the guest needs repair, hydration or both.
DOES HAIR NEED REPAIR?
Ask the guest the following questions during the consultation:
• Do you color or chemically treat your hair?
• Does your hair break or split?
• Are your ends rough, thinner and lighter?
If they answer mostly yes, their hair needs repair—and Botanical Repair ™
Perform the elasticity test to confirm your result.

Elasticity measures how well the hair stretches and returns to its original length. Hair with good elasticity is more resilient during styling. Hair with medium elasticity is sensitized; it stretches easily but doesn’t fully bounce back. Hair with poor elasticity is weak and damaged, which can result in breakage during daily styling.

1 Hold a strand of hair secure at the scalp.
2 With your other hand, gently pull the strand.
3 If it stretches and easily breaks, the hair needs Botanical Repair ™
DOES HAIR NEED HYDRATION?
Ask the guest the following questions during the consultation:
• Is your hair rough from roots to ends?
• Does your hair tangle easily?
• Do you have a dry scalp?
If they answer mostly yes, their hair needs hydration—and Nutriplenish. ™
Perform the porosity test to confirm your result.
Porosity affects the hair’s ability to accept and retain moisture. It also plays a big part in how much hydration the hair needs. Hair with high porosity absorbs products quickly and processes faster. Hair with low porosity is more resistant to product absorption, including the absorption of hydrating products.

1 Hold a section of hair at the ends.
2 With the other hand, backcomb—lightly sliding your fingers along the hair from the ends to the scalp.
3 If it feels rough and backcombs easily, the hair needs Nutriplenish ™
WHAT IF HAIR IS NEEDS REPAIR AND HYDRATION?
Hair that is severely damaged cannot easily hold hydration. Therefore, if hair is both damaged and dry, treat the damage first, to repair and strengthen the hair so the hair structure can better hold hydration once again.
These guests are good candidates for a regimen that supports damage repair and hydration on an alternating basis.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Week One: Shampoo and condition with Botanical Repair ™ Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner/Intensive Strengthening Masque (Light or Rich) and use Nutriplenish™ Leave-In Conditioner and Multi-Use Hair Oil.
Week Two: Shampoo and condition with Nutriplenish™ Shampoo and Conditioner (Light or Deep Moisture) and use Botanical Repair ™ Strengthening Leave-In Treatment.
Recommend a professional Botanical Repair ™ treatment to kickstart a powerful repair process that the guest can maintain with home care.

2 Home care products recommendation
TIP: When recommending home care products to guests with damaged hair, share that Botanical Repair ™ is formulated with our most up-to-date technology to provide a different, more holistic approach for strength and repair than Damage Remedy.™ Botanical Repair ™ goes three layers deep to address the cortex, cuticle and F-layer; Damage Remedy ™ only addresses the surface layer of the hair.
