o many more couples are opting to cast off tradition and fly away to a tropical hideaway in the Caribbean to exchange nuptials and we love that! The Caribbean truly is paradise; with the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean lapping at its coast lines; the breathtaking views of mountains and hillsides; captivating flora and fauna; mesmerising wildlife and the pulsating sounds of reggae, soca, calypso, zouk, salsa and merengue. How can you not be captivated by the charm of the Caribbean? The region is truly diverse; with its African, Asian, Middle Eastern, British, French, Spanish and Dutch influences, which is reflected through religion, architecture, heritage, cuisine and lifestyle. Such diversity means that couples can choose to celebrate their special day in a style that works for them, whether it’s a religious ceremony in a place of worship, barefoot on the beach, or underwater amidst colourful reefs brimming with fish – the options are endless! Couples can choose to get married in one Caribbean destination with family and friends, then fly or sail to another secluded island or a remote hideaway for their honeymoon. Island-hopping is strongly encouraged and easily arranged in the Caribbean, as the destinations are situated within close proximity of each other. There are no shortage of accommodation options: large family all-inclusive resorts; luxury hotels and villas; eclectic boutique properties; private cottages; apartments; or home-stays with local families – there is a choice for every pocket. Larger properties will provide in-house wedding coordinators and many destinations have trained wedding planners and destination management companies (DMCs) that can provide a fully comprehensive service and all of the required special touches for a very unique day. So as you decide where to create your memories, we encourage you to read our guide carefully, decide what is important to you and allow our Caribbean specialists to work with you to ensure that your Caribbean wedding and honeymoon is truly memorable, and, most importantly, that it evokes that never-ending feeling that you must return to the Caribbean and celebrate all those future special milestones with your loved ones! The Caribbean looks forward to welcoming you. Enjoy!

he beauty of the Caribbean is in its diversity. For many people, the Caribbean conjures up thoughts of sun-soaked white sand beaches – there are certainly plenty of them – but beyond the beach there are lots of alternative options. Think gorgeous green botanical gardens bursting with colourful blooms; historic houses and plantations; boutique inns or luxurious large-scale resorts; pretty little churches or temples and luxurious yachts – you can even get hitched underwater if you have your scuba diving certification! From iconic backdrops like the dreamy spires of Saint Lucia’s Pitons to a Robinson Crusoe-style setting like the Cayman Islands’ Little Cayman, where you can leave your shoes behind, the Caribbean really does have a venue to suit every kind of couple. There’s plenty of cultural flavour too! What about the Spanish rhythms of Cuba? Start your new life together in the colourful streets of Havana, mojito in hand and ready to dance the night away with the locals. If you like the chic side of life then SaintMartin and Martinique offer French flair and fantastic gastronomy. And don’t forget the Dutch – St. Maarten blends European luxury with Caribbean tradition effortlessly.
