You’re invited! Now what the hell do I wear?! What is a cocktail party exactly? We have all been invited to one or another, but do we really understand what is really is? After not being able to get a general consensus from a slew of people I decided to do some simple research. Look up the term and dictionary.com will tell you this: “a social gathering, often held during the cocktail hour, at which cocktails and other alcoholic beverages, hors d'oeuvres, and canapés are served.”
The “official” definition seems easy enough. So, now knowing what you are attending, it is time to decide what to put on your body for the event. One does not want to be too dressy and look desperate, while also seeming like they gave a damn coming to the function.
