Fire at the centre I prefer to make a fire outdoors. First a good walk in the woods, and then doing my own cooking on a wood fire. Or spending the evening together around the campfire. Magnificent! What all this has to do with my stoves? I think because in my perception of things fire has such a central place, my fire places have a discreet and elegant design. Fire places that take as it were a step back as soon as the fire is lit. I would be curious to know how you experience this. Pharos Interior is an object suspended in space. Fixed to the ceiling, it floats freely in the room. Its slender and natural shape is modest, yet expressive. As it can be turned, it is possible to have the view of the open fire from any angle of the room. Its simplicity notwithstanding, the Pharos Interior is a technical work of art: The combination of steel, stainless steel, cast aluminium and ceramic material make this sculpture a high-tech open-fire stove. is very special: a column stove, clear and unpretentious in shape with an elegant silhouette. Smooth surfaces, the soft rounding of Doran the front and the spacious combustion chamber with the curved glass window emanate quiet and warmth. The high combustion chamber affords a great view of the total height of the fire. Doran is surprising in that the combustion chamber is 45째 rotatable to either side, thus transforming the wood stove into a cubist work of art. See page 56 for the possibilities of this stove.

Signa is a puristic wood stove with a striking feature: the concave front which due to the slight curving draws the view towards the fire. This feature has a double effect: As soon as the fire is burning, it commands its place even more as the centre of its surroundings. And the Signa withdraws as it were imperceptibly from the room. Stor
is a bold stove inspired by the style of industrial construction from around 1900. Its shape, rounded back with riveted fins, thick steel and ingeniously thought-out combustion technique constitute the successful synthesis of the historical past and the present. The powerful Stor which is provided with a large combustion chamber and can be turned up to 360° emanates plenty of radiant and convection heat. Harrie & Margriet Leenders
Harrie Leenders is passionate about fire. A passion that runs like a thread through his life. And there is a reason for it. Harrie was raised on a farm where wood fire played a central role. All Leenders children were given a task, and little Harrie was responsible for the fire. It turned out to be the source of his later profession. In 1979, he started with his wife Margriet the stove factory called “Harrie Leenders Haardkachels”. Ever since the founding of the company Harrie Leenders has been developing and building stoves. At first the HL series and recently the Stor. Stor is sturdy and powerful stove, inspired by 19th-century engineering but designed with today’s modern technology. The door and air-control handles are made of olive wood, a lovely detail of this robust stove. The grip is natural, has a pleasant feel to it, and has its own story… Harrie simply loves fire, but he also loves Italy where he and his wife have found a second home. Here, they enjoy the centuries-old olive trees in their garden where the idea originated to give a stove a very special grip. Typically Harrie Leenders.

Dia wood stove is straightforward and minimalist. Its shape, system for easily turning the stove and burning effectiveness make it a refined stove in every respect. HL2 Today, the HL 2 is still as timeless-modern as it was when introduced 30 years ago. The small, compact and high-power wood stove with its 4mm thick steel casing is practically indestructible. The 3cm thick ceramic combustion chamber also ensures the stove’s high efficiency. With its fine qualities and reasonable price, the HL 2 is a solid and secure investment in many years of pleasant warmth. It can be used open or closed as desired.
