Ray Derrick, JD, GRI
Ray is a native of Boone, and after graduating from The University of South Carolina School of Law, practiced real estate law in Columbia SC for 40 years, during which time he served as Counsel for Security Title Insurance Co., municipal Judge, and was a guest lecturer on real estate topics at USC and College of Charleston law schools, Palmetto Land Title Association, The SC Bar, and National Business Institute.
He is presently a member of the SC Bar, associate member of the NC Bar Association –Real Estate Section, High Country Association of Realtors – Grievance Committee, National Association of Realtors - Graduate Realtors Institute Designation and is a certified Superior and Clerks Court mediator for NC. He has been admitted to Federal District Court and the US Court of Appeals. Having spent much of his life in the High Country, Ray knows the area and all it has to offer. With his background in real estate title work, he is skilled in identifying legal issues and pursuing a solution before they become an obstacle. Ray completed US Army basic infantry training at Fort Jackson SC and Fort Gordon GA and was awarded Outstanding Graduate of the training cycle. He completed Officer’s Candidate School and attained the rank of First Lieutenant, serving as an infantry and JAG officer. He is an avid supporter of environmental causes and is past president of the SC Wildlife Federation and is a member of the Friends of the Congaree, Blue Ridge Conservancy, New River Conservancy and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and is a certified master scuba diver. Ray enjoys and is proud of his two sons, both of whom are Eagle Scouts; his daughter, who is a REALTOR® in Greenville SC, and his 5 grandchildren.

Ashley Daughtry
Although originally from eastern North Carolina, Ashley grew up in Tennessee and graduated from the University of Memphis in 2001. Upon graduation, Ashley moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and embarked on a career in operations management for Lowe’s Home Improvement. After having lived all over North Carolina, Ashley decided to make the High Country her home in 2013 once she realized how much her parents enjoyed retirement here.

Ashley joined the team at Blue Ridge Professional Property Services in 2015 as a Business Development Manager for both the Property Management and Long-term rental divisions. Ashley coordinates all new business development, sales, communications, social media, and advertising for both Blue Ridge Professional Property Services and Boone High Country Rentals. Ashley finds success with providing a high level of customer service, consistent follow-up, professionalism, and attention to detail with property owners, tenants, and prospects. While not at work, Ashley enjoys trying out a new recipe, grilling out, a great Pinterest project, or prospecting for treasures at the many 51 antique shops in and around the High Country.
