ACES MOVE ON TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Blue Aces decide to further their athletic careers in college

Many Blue Aces have decided to play their sport at the next level. This is a huge accomplishment and each one deserves to be highlighted. See below to learn about each athlete.

BASEBALL

Dylan Andrews plays middle infield for the Blue Ace baseball team. He will be playing at Otterbein University next season with teammate Andrew Nemec. Aidan Karen-Lackey plays center field and is currently leading Licking County in runs scored. He will be playing next season at Ashland University. Adrian Mangine is a catcher and first baseman. He received an Honorable Mention for the All LCL team. He will be playing at Kenyon College. Andrew Nemec pitches, plays infield, and outfield. He recently pitched the first ever perfect game in Granville baseball history. He will be joining Dylan at Otterbein University.

CHEER

Delaney Pruden was a 3 year competition cheerleader, state champion and national champion in competition cheer. She will be cheering at the University of Cincinnati next year. Grace Gottschalk was a 3 year competition cheerleader, state champion, and national champion. She cheered at multiple all star gyms where she received notoriety. She will be cheering at Alma College.

FIELD HOCKEY

Mallory Lindsay plays midfield for the girls lacrosse team and has led them to a great season. She will attend Ohio University to continue her academic and athletic career. Riley Miller has been in goal for the Girls Lacrosse team, she will continue to play at Belmont Abbey College.

FOOTBALL

Dom Costa played wide receiver and cornerback at Granville, and after battling through injuries his senior season he will be playing at the next level at Ohio Wesleyan University. Keith Claypool a legend around GHS, through his hard work has earned a spot on the UNW St. Paul Eagles. He will be the first Blue Ace to play there. Carsyn Crouch was a stand out three sport athlete, playing baseball, basketball, and football. He now takes his talents to Lindsey Wilson College. Devon Haley excelled in football and lacrosse, he won LCL Running Back of the year in football and 2nd Team All Region in Lacrosse his junior year. He will continue playing both sports at Davenport University. Christian Hilton lead the football team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He will go to his brother’s alma mater, the Citadel, to continue his academic and athletic career. Davidson Jump was the kicker for the Blue Aces, he knocked in extra points at a 90 percent rate. He will continue to kick at Denison University Mason Liberti was a key member of the offensive line and he will be representing the LCL in the LCL vs. MVL All star game. He will be joining Costa and Vahalik at Ohio Wesleyan University. Colin Sheehan will be attending Ohio Dominican University, at Granville he was a stout interior defensive lineman. He was named 2nd Team All LCL. Bobby Vahalik was a captain and key two-way player, at Offensive line and Defensive line. Bobby was also named 1st Team All LCL and will also be representing in the All star game. He will be attending Ohio Wesleyan University. Kam Wright was an overwhelming force on the offensive and defensive line. At left tackle Kam racked up pancakes, and he was named 2nd Team All LCL. He will be playing at Ohio University.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Cate Scheiber was a star on the Girls Basketball team. She received the honor of being named LCL player of the year and she set the school 3 point record. She will be continue her basketball career at Belmont Abbey College.

LACROSSE

Kaison Durham played football and lacrosse at Granville. He currently holds the assist record for the lacrosse team and led them in scoring the past season. He will be joining Devon at Davenport University. Michael Sarap plays Midfield for the lacrosse team. He was a four-year letterman and a captain. He will be playing at Belmont Abbey College.

TENNIS

Marie Weiss is a stand out tennis player for Granville, and she will continue to play in college at Carthage College.

TRACK

Dylan Christian runs the 800m, 1600m, and 4x400m. He was an indoor track champion and placed 4th in Heat 2 last year at nationals. He will run at the University of Louisville. Ella Laughbaum does the pole vault and set the school record for it. Ella will be going to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she will continue pole vaulting. Regina Rose runs the 2 mile and the mile, and was a great runner for the cross country team. She will continue distance running at Bowling Green State University. Gavin Wells threw for the track team and played a key role on the defensive line for the football team. He will continue to throw at Lake Erie College.
