With the assignment of a new principal, Scott Hinton, we wanted to share his likes, interests and reasons for picking GHS. Get to know the new principal below!

Q: Tell me about the most fun you have had on your job.

A: The moments leading up to the graduation ceremony is the most fun/exciting time to be a high school principal. The anticipation of everyone involved to celebrate a special accomplishment is one that cannot be matched.

Q: How have you made an impact as a school principal?

A: I believe that I have made an impact through creating a collaborative culture among staff and students that work together to make high school the best experience possible for each individual student. We have worked hard to increase opportunities available to students in the past five years, and I hope to do the same at Granville High School.

Q: What attracted you most to Granville?

A: I have always loved the town and all that it offers. The school district has a distinguished reputation for high academics and extracurriculars. It has the attraction of being a great community to live and work. My experiences in meeting people so far has only cemented the expectations I had for the district and community.

Q: How do you see yourself making a difference at our school?

A: I will bring a passion and energy to Granville High School each and every day. I will work hard to ensure that each and every person has the ability to find success in our school. I want to build relationships with staff and students built on trust and that I will be a trusted advocate for everyone associated with GHS. Through these relationships we will develop a culture that makes the students, staff and community proud to be a Blue Ace!

Q: FAVORITE FOOD?

A: Chicken Alfredo or Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

Q: FAVORITE COLOR?

A: It was orange but I am finding blue to be more of my favorite these days!

Q: FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM?

A: Anything Ohio Bobcats! OU Oh Yeah! Bengals and Reds fan!

Q: WHO IS YOUR HERO?

A: My grandmother, Joane Hinton.

Q: HOW MANY KIDS DO YOU HAVE?

A: I have three daughters. They will be entering grades 6, 4 and Kindergarten next year.

Q: FAVORITE MUSIC GENRE?

A: Depends on my mood but with 3 daughters I rarely get to control the radio :)

Q: BUCKET LIST?

A: Vacation to Africa and Hawaii, and to earn a doctorate degree.

Q: IF YOU WERE AN ANIMAL, WHAT ANIMAL WOULD YOU BE?

A: Tiger

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?

A: Exercise, travel, read and spend time with my family.
