All the informa.on you need to apply for the Tour of the Arts 2016 Our 21st consecu.ve year! Criteria for Application 2016

❑ Studios must be located within the Town of the Blue Mountains or Kimberley

❑ The applicant must be an artist in pursuit of professionalism and artistic growth. Please attach a resume detailing your formal education, apprenticeship or self-directed study.

❑ Artists must commit to both the spring and fall tours,be in attendance from 11-5 daily, able to discuss the artistic process and demonstrate work during the tour.

❑ Artists are accepted to the tour based on work that is original, diverse, professional and of consistent quality

❑ All applicants must submit 3 new, clear jpegs representative of the work they intend to display on the tour. Jpegs will be used in the brochure and website

❑ The tour showcases original one of a kind art. Mass productions and work from kits or moulds are not to be the primary focus.

❑ Preserves and soaps are not to be sold on tour weekends.

❑ Artists must participate in PR, meetings and organization of the tours

Who are We? The Blue Mountain Studio Tour of the Arts is a group of well established artists living in the villages of Craigleith, Thornbury, Clarksburg & Kimberley area.

We are located about 2 hours northwest of Toronto, only 10 minutes from Blue Mountain Resorts, on the shore of beautiful Georgian Bay, in an area renowned for its scenery and 4 seasons activities.

Each May, on Victoria Day weekend and each Thanksgiving weekend, for the past 20 years, our very talented, local artists have opened their studios to the public for a 3 day tour and art sale.

2016 will be the 21st consecutive year for our annual studio tours of the arts.

1. Artists NEW to the tour You need to mail:

This tour was started by a group of local artists including Bill Hartman whose painting of Georgian Peaks is on the front of our brochure. There were no galleries here in 1995 and a tour was the best way to see what the local artists were doing, to get to know them and find those very special, unique and original gifts.

Because art needs an audience, each year studios, galleries and guest artists from the town of the Blue Mountains and Kimberley continue to invite the public to visit the locations where many artists are at work creating beautiful objects of art on the May and October holiday weekends.

❒ Work is juried by your peers. A studio visit may be arranged at a mutually convenient time.

Textile art, photography, metal work and glass blowing, pottery, jewellery, painting and sculpture are some of the many fabulous and original arts on display and for sale. This artist run tour continues to be a success! We look forward to having you join our tour.

❒ cheque payable to Tour of the Arts and dated Feb. 15/16

❒ Fee is $200 Contact Louise if you have questions.

The $200 registration fee covers the cost of both tours, any advertising, brochure design & printing, a sign for your studio & several directional signs for your use.

2. ARTISTS returning to the tour after an absence of 1 or more years: ❒ Please follow the instructions above for Artists New to the tour.

3. Artists who participated in the 2015 tours You need to mail: ❒ Note changes to your brochure info using the format for 2015 brochure info

Our familiar brochures and posters can be seen in local businesses from Barrie to Owen Sound, Georgian Bay to Newmarket or printed from our website www.tourofhtearts.ca
