Blue Mountains Zine Fair

Mtns Zine Club are partnering with the Cultural Centre to bring you the first ever Blue Mountains zine fair! Zines are self-published printed works around a theme that can include illustrations, poetry, writing, comics, or photography. We will have stalls from zine makers and creatives from around Australia and a zine-making station so you can even make your own zine on the day.

Fall Flicks Under the Stars

Friday 31 Mar

7 – 9 pm. Screening starts at 7:30 pm

Cosy up under blankets with your loved ones, enjoy some delicious hot chocolate and settle in for a night of local cinema under the stars. Join us in watching 10 short films created by Blue Mountains locals, curated by Riley Saxton and Helena Zadro-Jones. Featuring Bus Stop’s Head over Wheels and Mountain of Youth’s Soles. Pack a picnic dinner and bring along a chair, pillow or a rug!

Urban Art Tours

Join a volunteer guide from the Cultural Centre on an urban art trail around the township of Katoomba. The tour will visit over 15 artworks, some more hidden than others in the streets of Katoomba. Stretch your legs and discover the variety of artworks to be found.

Upcycle Op-Shop Couture with Charlotte

Do you love op-shopping? In this fun and adventurous workshop Charlotte will take you on a fashion journey, recreating and embellishing your found fashion in new sartorial directions. Charlotte’s knowledge of beading, embroidery and construction will show you new and exciting ways to rework, revive and re-wear.

Minibooks with Jan Melville

10.30 am – 3.30 pm

Artist books are a unique method used to tell stories and create beautiful artworks to fill your space. Jan will lead you in this workshop to discover ways to make minibooks and explore self-expression through collage, drawing and painting. This is suitable for beginners and intermediate students.

Winter Warm-up Wollemi Artisan Markets

Our Winter Warm-up Wollemi Artisan Markets will again coincide with the Winter Magic weekend. On Sunday morning come to the Cultural Centre to stock up on local products made by our creative community. Mark the date in your calendar and plan for a cup of warming soup from the Gallery Café, find something special to take home and support our local makers.
