GO AHEAD AND LOOK BACK, JUST ALWAYS MOVE FORWARD.
1977 TO 2017. 40 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, 40 YEARS OF PROGRESSION, 40 YEARS OF BURTON. FOR FOUR DECADES, BURTON HAS STOOD FOR SNOWBOARDING LIKE NO OTHER BRAND, FOR THE LOVE OF SNOW-COVERED MOUNTAINS AND THE JOY OF DRAWING DEEP LINES INTO THEM. WE HONOR THE PAST AND CELEBRATE THE FUTURE, AND THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT.
Current and former Burton team-riders remember:
Dave Downing (USA) Riding since 1990. About his very first Burton product: ª My first board I bought was a Craig Kelly Air, the purple one. It was from the Surf Shop I worked at called ETSurf in Hermosa Beach. It was by far the best board back then. I remember just watching videos of Craig over and over until the VHS tape broke. ` Scream of Consciousness' and ` Smooth Groove' were both my favorites. I can' t believe thinking back now, and the fact that Craig Kelly became my friend and I got to spend such good times with him. This is by far the board I will remember most because it was my first board and it was a Craig Kelly. I wish I still had it.º

Werni Stock (AUT) Riding since 1994. About his first Burton product: ª Backhill Clothing ± Burton' s kids line back in the days. And a a ton of Burton stickers. Stickers were most important back then, all over school stuff and my room!º
Terje Haakonsen (NOR) Riding since 1988. Shannon Dunn-Downing (USA)
Riding since 1988. About her very first Burton product: ª In 1990 my friend let me borrow her Burton Micro-Kelly for a contest. I loved it and I ended up buying one that year. Here' s a funny photo of me from Steamboat Mtn, Colorado ± my home town. I sent this photo with my resume to try to get sponsored by Burton, but I got denied! Maybe because of my headband?º (Shannon made the Burton team in 1994)
About his favorite Burton product: ª The Fish 56, just a powder board made for resorts, but it took JG and me three years to convince the team that this is needed. Still one of my favorite boards today.º About his very first Burton product: ª I bought my first board in March 1988 from a girl down the street that had an older brother. They were upgrading their boards that had kick tails. I bought their old Burton Elite 150 Swallow Tail with a little metal fin. A big board for me at the time, but it worked well in powder.º
