Non-Concussive Knee-Action Valve

NC2722 Knee-action Valve. The foremost application for this valve is in installations where hygiene is of the utmost importance. Using a kneeoperated valve reduces the risk of cross infection that can occur where hand-operated valves are used. Hospitals, laboratories and clinics, and establishments where food is served or manufactured are examples of where these valves should be specified.
The knee-operated valve is also recommended for use in institutions where handicapped or frail patients have difficulty in using conventional water fittings. The Barwil knee-operated valve is normally installed at a convenient height under the basin or sink, and can be operated with a light pressure with the knee in any direction. All metal parts of the fitting are chromium-plated and the control lever is fitted with a non-slip knee pad.
Where the valve is used with a spray nozzle it is recommended that the water supply should be at a maximum temperature of 43°C (109°F). For swannecks to accompany this valve, please refer to page 10. W.R.A.S. listed.

Non-Concussive Grip Valves (Self Closing)
NC2733 Grip Valve With insulated handle and body. Designed for attaching to the end of flexible rubber or metallic tubing. These valves are particularly suitable for swilling down purposes as the flow of water is easily remote controlled from the source of supply. For example, it can be specified for use in hotel kitchens, food processing plants and hospital sluice and autopsy rooms. The insulated handle and body make this valve safe to handle when used with hot water. The valve can be supplied with jet or rose attachments as illustrated on page 10, and is available in chromium plate or brass finish. Size 1⁄2"only.

The Barwil Non-concussive valve is adjustable under varying pressures whilst it is fixed and in use. Remove the easy-clean shield (A) which is grub screwed to the main body. This will expose the sealing screw (B) which, when removed, allows access to the adjusting needle (C). This is slotted to take a small screwdriver and by turning the spindle down for high pressure and up for low pressure, the valve can be regulated perfectly. This mechanism is used in non-concussive valves numbered: 2722, 2724, 2726, 2727, 2728, 2729, 2750, 2754, 2780.
