I think that Bohally and Marlborough Boys should swap, then both colleges would be right next to each other for one co-ed school.

I think down Alabama Road.

I think it should be on Battys Road.

The Alabama Road location is fine.

I think it should be in the Bohally and Marlborough Girls College spot.

Missed Market Dear Ed, I agree with everything you said about the Friday Wine and Food Festival Market not being on anymore. We have the Artisan Market every Saturday, we want something different!! I felt sorry for all the stall holders in Liz Davidson Place. Went through town, Cresswells Shoe shop had a great bargain table out front. If the couple of retailers have their way next market to go will be Mistletoe Market. Come on council, listen to the locals. You want tourists! Well bring them back and the Girls on Tour and many more. An angry local, Blenheim

Anna Small, health promoter for the Cancer Society Marlborough, holds one of the Candle of Hope ceremony bags that can be purchased ahead of the Relay for Life this Saturday.

Light a candle in memory By Celeste Alexander Wanting to remember someone who has passed away or celebrate someone fighting cancer? The Cancer Society Marlborough office is selling Candle Bags of Hope that will play an important role at this weekend’s Relay for Life event. A special Candle of Hope Ceremony will be held around 9:45pm on Saturday evening as part of the relay, where all the candle bags purchased and decorated by the community will be displayed. Each bag has sand and a candle placed in it and arranged in a formation by relay volunteers, then individually lit to create a spectacular remembrance display. Anna Small, health promoter for Cancer Society Marlborough, says the candle bags can be purchased before Friday for only five

dollars each. “Take them home, write messages on them or get your children to decorate them and bring them back to us before the end of Friday. “Alternatively you can’t get them to us before then bring them along to the Relay for Life before 7pm so our wonderful volunteers can prepare them for the ceremony,” she says. There will also be a candle bag decorating event on the day of the relay, simply purchase a bag and decorate it onsite. “It’s a lovely ceremony where you can remember a loved one or celebrate someone’s battle with cancer,” Anna says. The candle bags are available for purchase at the Cancer Society Marlborough office in Blenheim.
