Mag & Turbo It’s coming up two years since Darrell and Tina Bate made the decision to bring the Mag & Turbo franchise to Marlborough. The Blenheim couple say it’s been a great 18 months so far, building the business to where it is today. “Tina and I had given serious thought to bringing the Mag & Turbo franchise to the province before actually committing to it, and have had no regrets since,” Darrell says. Backed by their two full-time staff members, John Talbot and Russell Mouat, Darrell says the business is going from strength to strength. John joined the team in February 2015 after returning ‘home’ from Christchurch and has been involved in the motor trade for most of his working life. Russell came into the business in No-
vember 2015 after 11 years working for a leading car dealership and carrying out his trade qualification many years ago. “Within the Mag & Turbo family, we are surrounded with people who share a passion for cars. We love talking about cars, driving cars and working on them. “Some people just sell tyres but Mag & Turbo people live their passion,” Darrell says. Mag & Turbo, since starting in 1993 has become New Zealand’s only specialist mag wheel retail chain. “Our product range also comprises of tyres, servicing and 4x4 and performance accessories. “We are proudly the largest 100 per cent NZ owned and operated independent wheel and tyre retailer,” he says.
