The Labyrinth Tour on 14th June 2010 By John Messenbird
I had arrived at the venue over 2 hours before, not that this was a bad thing lease I knew I was there in time for the show. Even entering the Arena was spectacular in its futuristic design. Let’s talk about the show this is not a review of the architecture of the O2.

The place faded in to darkness the stage lit up and Gabriella Cilmi stated her set which I must admit was a good mini concert in its own right. (I only knew her from ‘Sweet About Me’ and that song from the Co-op adverts on TV), but she was good. Gabriella thanked us and told us to enjoy Leona Lewis (Not that she needed to, we were going to do that anyway), then she said goodbye.

We start this segment with one of the main issues at heart to Leona's causes for a greener earth; Pollution. On this first article, we will initially define the word pollution and the different forms it takes. On the next issue we will discuss the issue on a Global level and see what countries do to fight it. At the end of the day, every little thing we can do to make the earth greener will be going a long way to preserve its beauty

Let me introduce you to the definition we commonly find in Wikipedia[1]: Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into a natural environment that causes instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the ecosystem i.e. physical systems or living organisms.[2] Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat, or light. Pollutants, the elements of pollution, can be foreign substances or energies, or naturally occurring; when naturally occurring, they are considered contaminants when they exceed natural levels. Pollution is often classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution. Now, what are the different forms of pollution we are exposed in our modern civilization?

Air pollution, the release of chemicals and particulates into the atmosphere. Common gaseous air pollutants include carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and nitrogen oxides produced by industry and motor vehicles. Photochemical ozone and smog are created as nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons react to sunlight. Particulate matter, or fine dust is characterized by their micrometer size PM10 to PM2.5.

Light pollution, includes light trespass, over-illumination and astronomical interference. Littering 5

Noise pollution, which encompasses roadway noise, aircraft noise, industrial noise as well as high-intensity sonar.

Soil contamination occurs when chemicals are released by spill or underground leakage. Among the most significant soil contaminants are hydrocarbons, heavy metals, MTBE,[3] herbicides, pesticides and chlorinated hydrocarbons.

Radioactive contamination, resulting from 20th century activities in atomic physics, such as nuclear power generation and nuclear weapons research, manufacture and deployment. (See alpha emitters and actinides in the environment.)

Thermal pollution, is a temperature change in natural water bodies caused by human influence, such as use of water as coolant in a power plant.

Visual pollution, which can refer to the presence of overhead power lines, motorway billboards, scarred landforms (as from strip mining), open storage of trash or municipal solid waste.

Water pollution, by the release of waste products and contaminants into surface runoff into river drainage systems, leaching into groundwater, liquid spills, wastewater discharges, eutrophicationand littering.
1 Being informed of the different forms pollution takes is the first step in fighting it and hopefully decrease its hold on our planet. On the next article, we will explore pollution as seen from different countries and how those countries are moving in the right direction to decrease it. We will outline the different projects which commited celebrities like Leona is either backing or heavily involved in. As our issues progress we will add an action of the quarter which is a little action you can undertake to make our planet greener, there isn't too little when it comes to saving our planet for generations to come, it is the combined effort of each individual that amplifies the outcome. Here is the first action of the quarter: Start helping Leona's cause by recycling the paper you get from the mail, everyday gather all of the paper like mail and place it in a recyclable brown bag. Then, once the bag is full, drop it to a recycling box available at many public areas, shopping malls or if your city provides the facility, just drop it at your door step in their special recycle plastic box. If everyone does it, imagine the amount of trees we could save and we all know that trees filter our air and provide us with the needed oxygen. Let's all make this planet greener! 1. I had already promised you that I will give you tips on how you can collect donations and even get something for it. Some examples : We were so were executed, as we do with the animals. I only want to say: I am against! Wearing fur. These people will probably never understand that it is wrong to do such a thing, because at this day there is much more beautiful faux fur, but these people have no decency and do not know what to do with their money ... THE PANDA His natural habitat is cut down. He lives on bamboo and the heaps. But bamboo in furniture is becoming more popular and thus more and more of his food is cut down. Sorry! But there is hope. In Japan, an environmental organization breeding these animals and give them what they need. The only way they can reproduce! Thus were born in the last year, nearly 15 new baby panda's. The Panda's are not just reproductive muffle. His habitat by only 2500-3000 pandas live, is only 5900m ². Not much exercise and food for the pandas. THE ELEPHANT He also is more than threatened. Once again, the poachers are in the game! If you are keen on the horns. The ivory. In China, there should be power-improving ... It is a hard material u.s.w. The same game even with the rhinos! FULL QUAL these poor animals have to die then. Left behind to rot. Simply disgusting. The environmental organizations are doing what they do! They try several times a day, drive around that area of the endangered animals in order to stun them then and then saw off the horns. Thereafter, the animals can live on and they are of no value to the poachers! The horns grow in the next few years again. But the main thing is that they can continue to live a few years! The environmental organization with which I am a member, is WWF (World Wildlife Fund). You can see all possible stores products from WWF. I buy very much, handmade stuffed animals. They're are looking amazing, realistic and really sweet! These animals go from 2 € to over 100 €. The higher the price, the larger the animals then, of course. I can recommend you just go for it only 10% of the price at the store and the rest are going to the organization. You may also like to look again at the website. (www.wwf.com) where all products are listed. Among other things, trailers, etc. Please help ;D And finally, Leona is important that we help animals. She is so gracious and kind to animals. We should also give notice to the animals.

Leona Lewis, the most skilled vocalist of the decade, is known for extraordinary vocal performances which impress people from all over the world. It was obvious from the very first moment on that she possesses a special talent. Leona uses two different ways of going for lower notes. On the one hand there are those haunting falsetto notes which make her sound like an angel sent from up above. There is a crystal clear purity to this register. For example: the first chorus of I Will Always Love You. Leona is also capable of reaching low notes with her chest voice alone. The first half Stop Crying Your Heart Out is a great showcase of this ability. Now think of those amazing runs in Homeless, Bleeding Love or Run. That‘s the mid range of her voice, also entirely sung in chest voice. There‘s not many artists these days which can hit those notes with such a huge power. You can definitely tell by these belts that Leona has been doing opera training. The C5 in Bleeding Love sounds very operatic, especially due to the vibrato she adds to her voice. Also take into consideration that Leona is able to sustain these notes with such an ease. The upper belts are also part of the chest voice. Leona does plenty of them on ECHO and they have certainly improved since SPIRIT. You will stumble across many of these notes when listening to the endings of Brave or Broken. The head voice is often said to be the best part of Leona‘s voice. It‘s obvious that it is also heavily influenced by opera singing. There are numerous examples of Leona using her head voice: the vocal run in Happy (before the bridge) or the chorus of Can‘t Breathe. Leona has proved that she is able to go beyond the head voice register. She hit a whistle note in „Lady Marmalade“ during the X Factor. Now that you‘ve learnt something about her singing registers, we can move on to defining her actual vocal range. The lowest note she has ever hit is a D3 in The Best You Never Had. The highest note she has done is a F#6 (whistle note) in Loving You, a song that was recorded in her youth. That would make a total vocal range of 3.2 octaves based on her recordings alone. She could, of course, go higher or lower than that. It has often been said that she actually possesses a 4 octave vocal range. So there are still a few notes we are yet to hear. The pop princess isn‘t only very skilled, she also knows how to take care and rest her voice. That‘s one very important aspect of opera training as well. Leona sounded amazing throughout her first tour because she knows what to do with her voice or better not. Leona‘s voice will still improve in all the years to come. So we know for a fact that our shining star has got an immense control over her voice, a superb vocal range and the ability to inpret songs of different genres. But there's one thing that sets Leona apart from nearly any so called vocalist out there. Leona doesn't scream out her songs, in ordner to impress someone. She uses her voice to tell a story and convey emotion. Ryan Tedder, who has worked on Bleeding Love and Happy, reveals: "I've never been in the studio with anybody that knew their voice better." 9

Inaspettata (Unexpected) is an easy going up-tempo feel good sound vocally with a mid tempo drum and guitar backing giving it a rock edged sound. Biago sings the whole way through the song in Italian and Leona responds in English, but only till three quarters of the way through. The last quarter you hear Leona sing in Italian and English. Leona’s & Biagio’s voices do compliment each other making this a very good song. But to hear Leona sing in Italian was truly Unexpected! Leona looked stunning with her new hair brown coloured straight waist length hair, wearing a dark red velvet knee length dress. Biagio had the classic Phil Collins look, smart designer black jacket, black casual shirt and jeans. Who is Biagio? Biagio Antonacci is an Italian Singer/ Song Writer and Musician who career spans over 21 years. He is a major star in his native Italy with multiple platinum selling albums. He was born in the suburbs of Milan on the 9th November 1963. Singing with Britain’s own Leona Lewis will bring the him to the attention of a World-wide audience, and it would be great to see him working with Leona on her third album.
