Golden anniversary for Lawo WORLD

To mark its 50th anniversary, Lawo held a party for over 300 employees in the company’s hometown of Rastatt, Germany. It will continue to celebrate this milestone with several high-profile events and online presentations in the months to come. The company was founded by Peter Lawo in 1970 and began in an engineering office, providing technical solutions to its customers followed by broadcasting and media production technology. The company is now run by Lawo’s son, Philipp, who took over the role of CEO in 1999. Its early vision of IP becoming a single, unified infrastructure for signal transport in broadcasting and media production

triggered a strategy that has resulted in the company’s focus on IP. This included the development and definition of Ravenna as an open media-over-IP standard, which was started 10 years ago. ‘Lawo has witnessed exceptional growth based on our growing expertise and product portfolio,’ said Jamie Dunn, Lawo’s chief commercial officer. ‘We are very proud of the evolution of the company over the past 50 years and understand the importance that our talented staff, loyal customers and innovative mindset will play in securing another successful 50.’ www.lawo.com
