TECHNICAL TIP Precision Shaped Grain (PSG) Imagine an abrasive technology that rewrites the rules of grinding. Generating less heat, faster processing time, fewer stress failures and less burnishing. In their spirit of Innovation, 3M™ have pioneered a new technology known as Precision Shaped Grain (PSG) where ceramic minerals have been precisely shaped into repeatable triangle shaped grains. 3M™’s patented, precision-shaped ceramic abrasive grain continuously self-sharpens during use as points break off in a manner to maintain the pyramid’s precision shape.
