Meet the Ghostriders – The Free Press

Welcome to the 2019-2020 season of the Fernie Ghostriders

W

e are very excited for the season and am sure the team will bring some very entertaining games as they have worked hard to prepare for the upcoming season. Our coaching staff has been working very hard during the off season and returning this season is Jeff Wagner, Head Coach/ General Manager, Jered Neufeld, Assistant Coach, Brandy Craverio, Kayla Boger and Heather Lewis, Athletic Therapists along with the support staff of Jill Snell, Chiropractor, Dr. Michael Stuckey, team Physician and Father David John, team Chaplin. New to the Fernie Ghostriders is Tal Klaudt, Assistant Coach. Welcome to the Fernie Ghostriders Tal. The team is looking forward to getting out in the Community and meeting people along with helping other groups where we can, joining in events such as the Terry Fox run in Sparwood, Reach a Reader with the Columbia Basin Trust, Reading in the Schools with Students at the Elementary Schools, Ringing the Bells to help the Salvation Army, Light up the Night Event with the City of Fernie and many other events. Many away games will be broadcasted on the Drive 99.1, look for our fridge magnets at the game, the Drive always is happy to bring our game back to all of you while we

agner returns for his second season as the Head Coach/GM of the Fernie Ghostriders. His first season in Fernie saw the Ghostriders improve from 17th in the league (15-28-1-3) to 5th in the league (26-15-4-4). The Ghostriders also earned a berth in the second round of the playoffs for the first time in four years. The successful season also saw Wagner win the Coach of the Year Award in the Eddie Mountain Division. Prior to signing with the Ghostriders, Wagner spent two years in Creston where they won the Bronze Medal in the Cyclone Taylor Cup. The Mount Royal University graduate is entering his 10th year of coaching. Jeff lives in Fernie with his fiancée Steph and dog (and new team mascot) Ryder.
