Maggie passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer early Saturday morning, September 5th in Chilliwack, BC. A loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend Maggie is survived by her sister and best friend Vivian, children Angela, Danielle, Jacob and Martin, nieces Sara, Heather and April as well as a phenomenal array of extended family, friends and colleagues. Maggie worked for the BC Telephone Company for over 20 years and at Fabricland part time after her retirement. A creative soul, Maggie was an accomplished seamstress, painter, baton twirler and an avid gardener that loved to craft with her hands. A going away celebration will be held in her honour Sunday, September 20th at 1:00 pm. AAC Theatre & Community Arts Addition building, 2329 Crescent Way, Abbotsford, BC. KOKOSZKA, Bernard FRANK 1926 - 1915 Bernard FRANK Kokoszka of Mission, BC passed away on Sept. 15/15 at the age of 88. Born Oct. 7/26 in Poland to Adam & Anna Kokoszka, Frank immigrated with his parents to Canada and grew up on the family farm in Hatzic Prairie. Frank worked in construction and together with his wife Ruby (of 66 years) raised 8 children.
Our hearts are filled with love & sadness as we announce the passing of our father, grandfather & great grandfather, Steve Jackson. Steve is predeceased by his wife Frieda, father Norman Jackson, mother and step father Mary & Bill Haynes, brother Terry and brother in law Bob McRae. He is survived by his children, Sandy (Lorelei), Dan (Lori) and Cindy (Danny); grandchildren Rob (Cailie & great granddaughter Cody), Meghan, Crystal, Dustin, Matt (Brittany), Brad & Brittany. His sisters Joan (Bob), Maida, Happy (Harold), brothers Keith (Meleeta) and Barry (Sherry) and sister in law Debbie as well as many other loving family and friends. Steve was born in New Westminster on April 28, 1937 and passed away in the early hours of September 13th, 2015 at Abby Regional Hospital. He was the second oldest of seven children and grew up in Aldergrove. He fell in love with wife Frieda at a young age and by age 26 had 3 young children. They lived their life together as a family in Langley and shortly after lost his beloved wife Frieda. Together with his family, he raised his kids in Langley and eventually making his way to Abbotsford.. Steve spent most of his life working as a professional truck driver and is fondly remembered by fellow drivers as a great teacher who taught them “all they know”. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his garden. Steve had a zest for life and loved to have fun. We will miss his smile, twinkle in his eye and the way he could tell it like he saw it. A celebration of life will be held at Mt Lehman Hall, 6418 Mt Lehman Road on Sept 26, 2015 from 1:00-4:00pm. All are welcome!!

Isaac It is with deep sadness that the family of Isaac (Ike) F. Kasper, of Chilliwack, BC, announces that he passed away into the presence of our Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 13, 2015. Ike was born in Gull Lake, SK on March 21, 1932. During his earlier years, he worked in heavy construction and later took over the family Dairy Farm on Sumas Prairie. He then retired and moved to Chilliwack. Ike thoroughly loved traveling, hunting, fishing and was an avid sports fan. Ike is predeceased by his sister, Sue; brother, John; and sonin-law, John. Ike is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sylvia; 3 children, Debbie (Spence) Henderson; Sandy (Gerald) Thiessen; and Doug (Carma) Kasper. He was the loving grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his sister, Sarah, his brother, Bill (Donna), as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack. Thank you for your care and comfort. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Road, Chilliwack, BC @ 1:30 pm. Survived by his mother Jean McKamey, sister Rena McKamey, two sons Robin and Bryce McKamey, niece Lauren McKamey and nephew Ryan McKamey. We hold you close within our hearts, And there you shall remain, To walk with us throughout our lives, Until we meet again. OLSEN Ronald Gordon (Bucky) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ron on September 2nd, 2015, at Gemstone Care Home, Kamloops, BC. He is survived by his loving wife Isabelle, of Kamloops, his children Lorne Olsen, of Chilliwack, BC, Linda & Robert Simunovic, of Airdrie, AB, Graham & Gillian Bagg, of Calgary, AB, and Mark Bagg, of Kamloops, BC. Ronald is also survived by his grandchildren Lindsay, Christopher, Carmen, Ashley, Evan, Parker, Carter, Georgia, Gage and Meirra, as well as brothers Robert Olsen and Gary (Eileen) Olsen, many nieces, nephews and friends. Ronald was predeceased by his first wife, Judith Deanna Olsen, father, Joseph Olsen, mother, Elizabeth Olsen, father-in-law, Walter McKague and brother, Michael Olsen. Bucky (as he was known by many) was a Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle and dear family friend to many. Ron was born on April 14th, 1935, in Abbotsford, BC, where he resided until his retirement. A long time employee and first driver for the Remple Brothers Concrete Company. Upon retirement, Ron and Isabelle moved to Kamloops to be near family. Ron was a family man who adored his children and grandchildren. Ron had many dear friends and was always a pillar of strength and wisdom to all who needed him. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Howie and the staff at the Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Home. A beloved sister, mother and grandmother, Valerie was born in Regina on May 16th, 1950 and raised in White Rock, BC with her two brothers, Lloyd and Jim Schuler. Valerie is survived by her two daughters and two granddaughters; Laura Dool, Dan Antall, Linda Gilbert, Dave Gilbert, Samantha Gilbert, Rebecca Gilbert as well as numerous friends. Valerie excelled running and managing her own foster homes for special needs individuals and was a coach for Special Olympics. After retirement, Valerie moved to Galliano Island and spent many years enjoying nature and living the life as an islander. She moved back to the mainland due to health issues. After a few years of battling ovarian, then liver cancer… Valerie passed away on Friday September 4th at Christine Morrison Hospice. The family would like to thank all the staff, volunteers, Dr. Quan and Dr. Shuel for all the special care they provided.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother at 102 years of age at Maplewood House. Mum was born in Sydney, Australia and immigrated to Canada in 1977 after Dad had passed to be close to her children. She leaves behind her son, Warren (Jeanette), daughter Kerry, grandsons Jeff (Miranda), Mark in Australia, Doug (Iza) in Poland, Cameron (Lola) and three great grandchildren, Ruby, Elliott and Oscar, as well as the many friends she met in Canada. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Don Wilson. Mum had a wonderful, active and fulfilling life, was quickwitted and travelled extensively after the age of 65, her last trip to Australia was at age 95. She also bowled, loved golfing, and enjoyed her volunteer work with the MSA Hospital Auxiliary as a member since 1977. A Celebration of Mum’s Life will be held on November 21, 2015 at a location to be published at a later date.
