Generally, Council meetings are the second and fourth Monday of each month, at 7:30 pm in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 3570 Bridge Street, Armstrong, BC. Where such Monday is a statutory holiday, the meetings are held the next evening. Council Committee Meetings are held in the morning or afternoon of the same day. Armstrong’s age-friendly advisory committee is in place. City council considered the names of the individuals seeking appointments to two-year terms, starting Jan. 1 and re-appointment. “The age-friendly committee is advisory in nature and provides for public relations and promotion of age-friendly initiatives, and leads the implementation of the committee’s action plan,” said Coun. Shirley Fowler, chairperson of the city’s community service committee. Re-appointed to the committee are chairperson Peter Rotzetter, Ken Brandel and Dawn Jamieson. New members, whose appointments were officially sanctioned Monday, include Wayne Snider, Kate Westlin, Penny Christensen, Patti Ferguson, Patrick Simpson and Al Johnson. Councillor Ron (Sully) O’Sullivan will continue on as the city’s liaison with the age-friendly committee. The committee’s terms will end on Dec. 31, 2016.
