PLOWE, ALTHEA M. (nee MUFFORD) Aug. 16, 1919 – Oct. 26, 2014

On Sunday, October 26th we said good bye to our beloved Mother, Gramma and Nana - Althea Millicent Plowe. Althea was a wonderful woman, she was kind and giving, she loved to sing and play the piano, and to whistle. Everyone who knew her loved her dearly she truly was a special person. Predeceased by her parents Harry & Nellie Muīord and her sister Myrtle of Milner, BC. She is survived by her two children, daughter Irene Hart of Vernon, BC (Brian and Ashlynn, Darryl and ChrisƟna, Diana, Erin and Cassidy) and son Dal and Alice Plowe of Salmon Arm, BC (Denise and Brian, Angelle, and Nicole along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren). Althea is also, survived by her sisters Stella Long of Victoria, and Freda Lynch of Langley, BC and her special niece Dianne McMorran of Lavington, BC as well as several nieces and nephews. Althea was born in New Westminster, BC on August 16, 1919 she lived the Įrst 70 years of her life on the family farm in Milner, BC, then spent several years in Langley city aŌer the farm sold she then moved to Grindrod, BC to be closer to her family in 1990. She worked for 20 years at the Langley 5 to a Ψ1.00 store, this is where she learned the art of giŌ wrapping, she always gave the best wrapped giŌs ever. Althea was always an acƟve member in the United Church and was a life Ɵme member of the UCW and was an acƟve member of the NaƟve Daughters, Fort Langley Branch. She also played piano/organ for services and many weddings. Thank you to the caring staī at BasƟon Place in Salmon Arm, BC for caring for her and being so kind to our family. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 8th Λ 2:00 pm at the St. Andrews United Church in Enderby, BC. There will also be a Memorial Tea in her honor in the Milner Chapel in the spring of 2015. Arrangements entrusted to Fischer͛s Funeral Services & Crematorium Ltd., Salmon Arm, BC (250) 833-1129. To my unbelievable neighbours and friends

Remember her quirky sense of humour, and her complete devoƟon to those whom she loved. Will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.

A very warm thank you to all my wonderful neighbours in Marmot Court and very good friends who celebrated my 75th birthday with me. It was so special. A big thank you goes to Mr. & Mrs. Elaine and Rod Gorsline and my two sweet girls, Yuki and Amanda who arranged everything. My sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Lennie passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Vernon on October 26, 2014 at the age of 91. She was born March 29, 1923 in Herbert Saskatchewan. Lennie was predeceased by her husband Henry in 2000, son Lorne in 1993, and six sisters: Wanda, Eda, Freida, Ethel, Pauline, and Lydia.

Lennie is survived by and leaves behind her Įve children: Carole (Alex) Fraser of Lumby, Les (Vicki) Hiebert of Chilliwack, BeƩy Hiebert of Salmon Arm, Doug Hiebert of Vernon, and Pete (Ann) Hiebert of Kelowna. Gran will be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren: Brenda, Tim, Rodney, ChrisƟna, Lezley, Ryan, Wendy, Michael and Colin; eight great-grandchildren: CurƟs, yavier, Jake, Luke, Nataley, Alexa, Logan and Maya. She also leaves behind one sister Lil, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga Street West, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan with interment to follow in Rosedale Cemetery.

was born on March 21st, 1922 and passed away on October 25th, 2014 in the Heron Grove Residence at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Hughes (Jack Hudon) of Vernon, B.C. and Karen (Floyd) Stromstedt of Berwyn, Alberta; Įve grandchildren, Teri (Rod) Ellis of Armstrong, B.C., Carolyn (Darren) Teichroeb of Vernon, B.C., Grant (Alana) Hughes of Lake Country, B.C., Cam (Gaytane) Stromstedt of Fairview, Alberta and Carla Stromstedt (Kevin ChrisƟe) of Whitecourt, Alberta; and nine great-grandchildren, Ashley, Daniel, Michelle, Jesse, Quin, Liam, Erik, Kelsey and Kyson. Edna was also blessed with two great-great-grandchildren, Shyanna and Ciara. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Inga McLeod of Edmonton, Alberta; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents, MarƟn and Julia Sather of Forestburg, Alberta; one sister, Genevieve Friend of Rosalind, Alberta; one brother, Peter Sather of Sardis, B.C.; and one son-in-law, Richard Hughes of Vernon, B.C. Edna was born in Forestburg, Alberta where she was raised with an older brother and two sisters. She resided in Galahad, Edmonton, Kaleden, Oliver, Port Alberni, PenƟcton, Calgary and Vernon. She worked as a salesclerk, owned a fabric shop, taught sewing and managed apartment buildings. When reƟred, she belonged to the U.C.W., volunteered at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, enũoyed acƟviƟes at Schubert Centre and made many afghans for family members.

The care Edna received from friends and staī at Columbus Court and Heron Grove were greatly appreciated. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donaƟons in memory of Edna to the charity of their choice.
