There is a buzz of excitement at Flooring Canada Kelowna as Perry Hildebrandt welcomes
Shawna Stafford as a new partner. Shawna is no stranger to the Flooring Canada family, as she owned her own Flooring Canada store in Whitecourt, Alta., until 2009 when she and her family made their move to Kelowna. It was at that time Shawna joined the Flooring Canada Kelowna team focusing on retail sales where she brought her passion and knowledge for floor covering. Her work ethic and customer centric approach made her transition into specialization of insurance, restoration and commercial sales a natural fit. Her belief of welcoming customers as guests and looking after their needs as if they were her own is shared by the entire Flooring Canada Kelowna team. There is an unmistakable fun energy apparent as soon as anyone walks in the doors.Call 250-763-1235 or 250-808-8673 Congratulations to Bruce Vermee, awarded

Today’s column is dedicated to two longtime friends. Ross Gorman, of Gorman Bros., passed away Oct. 17. It was always a delight to have chats with Ross, especially about his dedication to the community. We worked together on several campaigns for the United Way and he always gave me great insight into fundraising. Personal condolences to the entire Gorman family and Ross’ many community friends. Jollean Ewens, a long-time friend and hotel colleague, also passed away last week. Jollean was a hotel sales director for many years in Vancouver at the Bayshore and Holiday Inn, and then retired to Kelowna. She was struck with Parkinson’s for the past 16 years. Condolences to John and her family.
