Oh yes, fall is here my favourite season of the year! I love all the colours of autumn and watching the leaves fall ever so gently from the trees to the ground. Lots on the go out in Horsefly... the Salmon Festival is this weekend Sept. 27th & 28th, talks with local river interpreters, DFO information kiosks and representatives, arts and crafts for the kids, local vendors and bannock! The Cryin Cowboys will be at the Community Hall on Saturday September 27th. Music starts at 7 pm, $10.00 for all ages, treats and drinks are by donation so come on down for a two stepping good time dancing to Honkey Tonk tunes! The Farmers Market is at the Mini Mall Saturday September 27th and every Saturday for the month of October! The new owners of Horsefly Service are settling in nicely with there new business. You should stop in and say hello if you haven’t yet. The new owners are Marc and Julie Caron. Marc was born and raised in Williams Lake and left for Canmore Alberta for work after the mills in Williams Lake had cutbacks. He worked in construction when he first moved to Canmore then decided to try something different and took a job at OK Tire and worked his way up to shop foreman. Julie was born and raised in Banff, most of her family still lives there! One night both Marc and Julie ended up in a little pub and met by chance (the sparks flew with these two!) The rest is history! Marc and Julie have been together now for 11 years and have

Marc and Julie Caron & family new owners of Horsefly Service 3 children, two boys and one girl. Kacey is 8, Justin is 6, and little Grace is 2. This is a busy couple with anew business and an active young family. Marc and Julie both wanted to come back to the Williams Lake area when the time was right. Marc’s family has had a cabin at McKinley Lake for years and they all enjoy spending time there. Both Marc and Julie wanted to have a relaxed country life style to raise there family. When the opportunity came along to buy there own business and relocate to Horsefly they jumped at the opportunity! Julie and Marc are both working at the gas station and have kept all the friendly staff as well. They are planning an expantion on the kitchen. The will still have pizza and will now have subs and cinnamon buns. So keep an eye out for all the new goodies coming out of the kitchen! They are also offering lots of service specials from Oil Changes, Brakes, Shocks, Exhaust, Tire Sales to Changeovers! They are starting out the fall season with a winterizing special, so give them a call at 250620-3447 to book your appointment today! New business hours are 6 am to 7:30 pm 7 days a week!
Julie is a self starting business entrepreneur she sells “It Works” Body Wraps and Greens, so stop in and ask her all about it! From myself and the rest of the Horsefly community a big welcome to the Caron family! (I know that you will all love living in Horsefly!) Nadine from the Soul Food Wagon wants to let you know that she will be having Salmon Festival specials, and she is planning on being open until the beginning of November weather permitting! Katherine from Horsefly Hardware has lots of great new stock in, and has her Print and Copy business up and running now! Crystal at the Anvil Pub has lots of events for October starting with poker on the 4th and 18th, Open Mic on the 11th, Karoake Halloween party on Friday October 31st. They have a live country band coming to the pub on November 8th. Always great specials and good times!
