Thanks to the great ER and Palliative Care staff at Creston Valley Hospital, and to the ECU staff at Cranbrook Hospital who looked after my wife Doris. Thanks also to the ambulance attendants who, through thick and thin, transported Doris and me from Creston to Cranbrook and back. Thank you to the doctors in Creston and Cranbrook for their care and attention to Doris. Special thanks to Dr. Griffioen for his empathy, care, and especially his communication skills in explaining Doris’ problems since her diagnosis. He deserves a medal. With thanks also to all the ladies who walked Crestview Road with Doris and her dog, to her special friend Thelma, and to Shirley and Arnold.

He worked for the Creston Co-op for over 30 years; Àrst in Lister Mercantile and later as the assistant manager of the Super Value store in Creston. They had two children, Larry and Terry. He married Lil Brotzell in 1969 and was the step-father to her three girls, Susan, Jean and Barb. In 2009, he married Beulah ´Babs¾ Turner. The family of the late Clarence Hagen would like to express our thanks to family and friends for their many acts and words of kindness in the loss of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He left behind a legacy of wonderful memories and selflessness, and you honoured and comforted us with your attendance at his service. We have so many people to thank. Pastor Gwen Brown for her guidance and conducting such a beautiful service, Eric Johnson for his moving solo, the Pallbearers for their much appreciated assistance, the organist for providing such beautiful music and the St. Stephens Presbyterian Church Ladies Auxiliary for serving a lovely lunch. The tribute from the Legion was touching and so respectfully done - it was greatly appreciated. The staff at the Swan Valley Lodge were exceptional in their care and compassion, Karen Trainer, Eric Johnson and Robin Quaedvlieg for their friendship and unwavering support and Dr. Shawn Walker for his years of medical assistance. Thank you to the friends and family who continued to visit Dad regularly and provided companionship throughout the years. A special word of thanks has to go to Dennis and Gillian at G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel. Your professionalism, support and compassion was so amazing and helped us honour our beloved father with dignity and love.
