It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend. Lyle will forever be missed by his beautiful loving wife of 50 years, Kathy, their son Marty (Adriana) and their daughter Sandi (Julio). Also missing their Papa are his six grandchildren, Devon, Julia, Kaila, Paige, Nolan, and Jonathan, along with Lyle’s siblings; sisters Phyllis, Iris and Marg, and brothers Murray and Rob (predeceased by his brother Walter). Lyle had many life long friends that will forever hold him dear in their hearts, especially the happy hour gang at Crown Point. Dad always had a kind word and a beautiful smile for everyone he met. All lives he touched were made a little more special. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 25, 2014 at St. Ann’s Parish (33333 Mayfair Ave, Abbotsford) with a reception to follow at Crown Point Villas Clubhouse (34959 Old Clayburn Rd., Abbotsford). Special thanks to the Nurses of Baker 2 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and to Dr. C. Codio for excellent care in his final days, and to Dr. I. Cappon for his many years of care.

SWARD Douglas Simon Sept. 1, 1940 ~ July 20, 2014

Born in Mission Hospital, passed away July 20th at the Palliative Care Abbotsford Hospital. Predeceased by his father Simon and mother Natalie and brother Daryl. Doug is survived by his wife of 55 years Elaine (Kieler) Sward, sons James (Robyn) and Robert, daughter Kelley (Chet) Powell, grandchildren Linsay (Dave) Ogden, Brandon (Leah) Sward, Bryce Sward, Taylor Powell, Joey Powell, three great grandchildren, brother Ken (Ethel) Sward, many nieces and nephews. Doug worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia (1958 - 1975), Winde Pacific (1975 - 1991), Savona Hotel (1991 - 1995), and at Shake & Shingle as a contract negotiator. He was a member of the Chilliwack & Mission Curling Club, Rotary (Chilliwack & Mission), Citizen on Patrol, Lions Savona. He loved fishing and hunting. A memorial service will be held August 2, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 32420 7th Ave., Mission. Pastor Alan Boerner, Reverend Gloria Kieler officiating. Refreshments to follow at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. If so desired donations may be made to the Cancer Foundation in memory of Doug Sward.

We are very sorry to say that Dale Neumann passed away while working in Alberta. He was born December 31, 1981 and passed away July 17, 2014. Dale is survived by his girlfriend Jeseka, son Kash Quinn Neumann, parents Toddy (Bryan) and Henry (Tina), grandparents Omi and Opa, brother Dan (Brooklyn), aunts and uncles Cindy and Ernie and Angela and Bill, cousins Marla, Isaak, Kolby, Kelsi plus many more cousins. He is predeceased by his Grampa and Gramma Quinn and Uncle Bubba. Dale was an avid skateboarder, snowboarder and he loved working out in the gym. He loved his nieces, nephews and cousins very much. He had many people that loved him, too many to name but you know who you are. Service to be held on July 26, at 2 pm North Valley Baptist, 32715 Cherry Ave. with clergy Doug Dunbar officiating. Reception to follow in church.

Born in Mission City, passed away peacefully surrounded by family June 22, 2014 in West Vancouver at the age of 85. Survived by sons Richard, James and daughter Cathy, 3 granddaughters Kimberly, Makala, Samantha. A peaceful, caring and loving mother. Ann contributed over 20 years of volunteer work to Lions Gate Hospital. By request of the family there will be no service. Instead a private gathering for family and close friends will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local animal shelter.

Jo Jo passed away July 17, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 55 years old and will be sadly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Candace (Dave), son Devlin (Alexis), brother Bob (Marlene), brother Sid (Carlene), nephews Cory, Jason and Jessie, nieces Tami and Carly, as well as her two doggies Scrappy and Diego. She was predeceased by her mother Agnes Krall in 2005 and her father Robert Krall in 2012. Special thanks to her friends that travelled from Winnipeg and Strathmore to see her. The family would like to thank Abbotsford Regional Hospital staff of the Cheam Palliative Care for their humanity. A private family service and celebration of Life will be held later in July.

Ruth passed away on July 15, 2014. She was born July 28, 1929 in Sardis, BC but lived most of her life on the Darel family farm in Agassiz, BC. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Paul (2000), infant son David (1946), and four of her five sisters, Fern, Iva, Ida and twin sister Ruby (2009). She is survived by her four children, Raymond (Marti) Darel, Roland (Debbie) Darel, Jeanine (Michael) Manley, Donald (Thalia) Darel, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-greatgrandchildren. Ruth had a great love of gardening, crafts and travel, but most of all her family was dearest to her heart. Ruth will be sadly missed and will remain forever in our hearts. Funeral service took place Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. church, Agassiz, BC.

It is with deep sadness that the family of Margaret Mary (Langtry) Brackett would like to inform all who knew and loved her of her passing on Saturday, July 19, 2014 and made her journey back to her Lord. Margaret had a brain tumour removed on May 6th but suffered various complications in the months that followed. Margaret was well loved by all her co-workers at UFV, friends and family because of her kind smile and genuine personality. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Eileen Langtry and brother Marshall. She is survived by her husband Dennis, children Rae-Ann, John (Rachel and grandson Ethan) and Rebekah, siblings Noela (widow), Chuck (Faye), George (Betty), Joan (Arnold), and numerous nephews and nieces whom she adored. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 1:00 pm at the LDS Church, 30635 Blueridge Dr., Abbotsford. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the University of the Fraser Valley scholarship fund. “Be still my soul....”
