Ursula Meta Kaempf (Hollmann)
Denji Andries Kuraoka was born on May 31st, 1988 in Vernon, B.C. and passed away suddenly on May 11th, 2014 at the age of 25 years, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Denji will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Woody and Yvonne Kuraoka; his younger brother, Tyler; his paternal grandfather, Papa Sigi Kuraoka; his maternal grandparents, Alice and Gordon Isaac; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his dog, Walter. He was preceded in death by his Grandma Belle Kuraoka and Greatgrandparents, Opa and Oma Horseman. Anyone who knew Denji knew he lived life large. His loving personality touched many people and his presence Įlled a room to the brim. His love and devoƟon for his family was evident in his acƟons every single day. He was a fantasƟc cook and loved children. Denji’s huge heart of gold was always in the right spot. He would drop everything to help anybody, anyƟme, anywhere. His passion was driving. His sense of humor was keen and he always had a special twinkle in his eye. In honor of Denji’s incredible njest for life, a casual, outdoor celebraƟon of his life will be held at his childhood home, 48 Riggins Road, Lumby, B.C. on Sunday, May 18th, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. We welcome all family and friends to join us for an aŌernoon of sharing stories, memories, tears and most importantly, laughter As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donaƟons in memory of Denji to a Trust Fund which has been established at the Valley First Credit Union in Lumby so that funds received can be used for Scholarships for next year’s GraduaƟon Class at Charles Bloom Secondary School in Lumby. June 6, 1939 - May 13, 2014 Ursula showed such strength, courage and determinaƟon over the past seven years, but sadly we must now say good bye. Ursula was predeceased too soon by her husband, Bernie Kaempf, in 2004. She will be lovingly remembered by her: daughter, Tamara (Brad) Turner of High Level, Alberta͖ son, Frank (Tanya) Kaempf of Vernon͖ her grandchildren: Tyler, DusƟn, Keefer, Jordan, Kelsey, Taylor͖ brother, Heinrich Hollmann (Karin) of Gutersloh, Germany͖ sister, Heidi Oltmanns of Hamburg, Germany͖ nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. As well, she leaves behind many close, long-Ɵme friends that have become extended family to Ursula and her family. Ursula was born June 6, 1939, in Bielefeld, Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1967 to Nelson, BC, with her husband and young daughter, Tamara. They seƩled in Vernon in 1971, where Frank was born. Ursula was employed for many years by the Hudson Bay Company, H&P Sausage and Siedmann Sausage. Ursula was well known for her ͚Bauernmalerei’ painƟng, spending many years at CreaƟve Chaos and other craŌ fairs. Ursula loved the Canadian outdoors and enũoyed everything they had to oīer: skiing for many years at Silver Star, hiking and canoeing with her friends of the Vernon Outdoors Club and enũoying many years of camping. Ursula was acƟvely involved in the Edelweiss Society of Vernon and was an early founding member of the 32 year old infamous (beruchƟgt)͞Kaīeeklatsch͟. A CelebraƟon of Life service will be held at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home at 10 am on Saturday, May 17th, 2014. A gathering with refreshments will follow at the Eagles Hall. In lieu of Ňowers, those wishing to do so, may make donaƟons in memory of Ursula to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Vernon Hospice House. For those ladies wishing to do so, by Ursula’s reƋuest, she would love it if you would wear a scarf to the service, in memory of her love of fashion, especially scarves.
