BCHL at the Worlds Three BCHL grads are playing prominent roles at the World Ice Hockey Championships in Belarus. The tournament started Friday and runs through May 25 in the city of Minsk. Former Burnaby Express star Kyle Turris is an alternate captain for Team Canada. Turris scored 102 goals and 91 assists in 110 career BCHL games with the Express before becoming the third overall selection by Phoenix at the 2007 NHL entry draft. He was BCHL rookie of the year in 2006 and MVP in 2007. He currently plays for the Ottawa Senators. Defenceman Jason Garrison, a

Nanaimo Clippers alumnus and current Vancouver Canucks blueliner, is also wearing the Maple Leaf. Garrison had 29 goals and 60 assists in 109 career BCHL games and won the BCHL Top Defenceman award in 2005. The third BCHL alum is former Trail Smoke Eaters D-man Danny DeKeyser. The Detroit Red Wings blueliner is skating for the United States. DeKeyser scored eight goals and 17 assists in the 2008-09 season with Trail before going to the United States Hockey League and then Western Michigan University. 4th Annual Dark Horse Riders Charity Golf Tournament

Lions looking at BCFC BC Football Conference stars Anthony Daley (Langley Rams) and Derek Yachison (Kamloops Broncos) have been invited to the BC Lions rookie camp. Daley, an offensive lineman, and Yachison, a wideout, shone at an April evaluation camp that was also attended by Chilliwack Valley Husker kicker Dan Erickson. BC Lions rookie camp starts May 28 in Kamloops and more BCFC players may yet receive invites.
