Sidewalk needed to connect communities

Lonnie ext.201 • l.hart@trailtimes.ca • Dave ext.203 • dave@trailtimes.ca

I’m passionate about riding my bike. I would love to ride my bike to school, but I live in Montrose. There is no sidewalk from Montrose to Fruitvale. It is not safe for me to get to school walking or on a bike

without the security of a sidewalk path. As many people live in Montrose and either work or go to school in Fruitvale, I feel this will help our community to get fit and stay safe. I am hoping that the mayors will spend their

money on a sidewalk connection because the value of one person’s life is priceless. I look forward to seeing construction in my area soon. Thank you. Trenton Winters

I am nine years old and live in Fruitvale area A. I am writing this letter to say thank you to all the property owners in this area who have opened up their land so people can explore all what this area has to offer for its outdoor recreation. I would really like to see more. Like more mountain bike

trails in the Fruitvale/Area A location, a walking trail to the Beaver Falls site, and a ski bus for the Champion Lake cross country trails as well as one for the Salmo Ski Hill on the weekends. Since moving here six years ago from Squamish, BC, my family has really enjoyed what this area has to offer, from

mountain bike riding, hiking trails, camping, fishing, skiing and snowmobiling. I believe expanding this area’s outdoor activities would bring more people into our area to visit. I love living here. I think it’s one of the best places to live. Thank you for your time. Brennen Koach.

Thanks to property owners for land access

Allow more freedom to talk about religion I believe that everybody should be free to talk about their own beliefs everywhere, including school! This is one part of freedom of religion, which is a human right. For example we have to learn about other religions and cultures, but we aren’t allowed to talk about ours at school. I think it is important for all people to feel free to talk

about their beliefs because it is important to them and their culture and religion. I feel left out at school when I can’t even talk about my belief about God because it is something that is very important tome. I think I’m not the only one that thinks that because lots of people have different beliefs and if we talked about them we could learn to listen to and

respect one another’s beliefs , and learn about other religions too! Our school has an Aboriginal club but we don’t havea Christian club even though there are many Christian believers in BC. By sharing our beliefs I think that it would be more accepting and include everyone, everywhere. Thank you Madison Bradford

Less school days would make kids happier I would like to discuss the topic of less school days. I believe there should be four days of school not five in a week. If there was more time at home there would be more

time spent with family. Kids would be happier. There would also be more time to play sports and travel on the weekends. There would be more time

to complete homework and also more time for video games. In conclusion I believe that less school will make kids happier. Owen Cook

Mall needs to increase variety of stores Why can’t our mall be better? We need more stores in the mall! I’m sick and tired of looking like everyone else because there’s nowhere to shop. We’re told to shop local but where? There’s nothing here! My family told me that the

mall’s rent prices are to high so stores don’t want to or can’t afford it! So a lot of places in our mall sits empty! I think that our mall’s rent prices should go down so we don’t have to go far or online to find something we want or need! Why would you

want to move to a town where there is nothing? If we want to have a bigger community we need more places to shop! So rent should be lower so new stores can open, more jobs created. That’s what Trail needs! Emma Smith

Spruce up Jingle Down Main activities I think there isn’t enough to do for kids at Jingle Down Main in Fruitvale. I have suggestions to make. Jingle down main more fun for kids. Some suggestions I have are:

Snow sculpting contest; snowbowling and/or shuffleboard I believe that these activities would make Jingle Down Main more fun for kids. The more fun kids are hav-

ing, the more families will come and stay longer. I believe this will make Jingle Down Main more successful. Thank you for your time. Max Howald
