Missing You ~ Love, your family ~
Passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2014 surrounded by loved ones at Royal Columbian Hospital after a tragic accident while vacationing in California. Phil was born on July 18th, 1942 to Vernon and Phyllis Dunham (predeceased) in Vancouver. A true family man, Phil is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 45 years, Carol Ann, son and fishing partner Perry, daughter Leanne and fiancé Andrew Abbott, and cherished Granddaughter Taneisha. He will be missed greatly by Sister Sue Digney, Sister-in-Law Marilyn and Brother-in-Law Harvey Hargitt, Nephews Boyd and Daryl Hargitt, Nieces Chelsea and Jessica Digney, GreatNephews Avery and Eric Hargitt and their mother Kristin Nelson, Great Nephew Maxim Hargitt, endeared cousin Steve Lucas, and numerous other relatives and family friends. He was in his 53rd year of employment with BC Hydro and he took pride and enjoyment in his work. Phil had a zest for life. Much of his time was spent fishing, camping, cycling, cruising, playing board games, cards and reading. He also enjoyed time with his canine friends Tyla, Tuco and Tula. But most of all, time spent with family and friends was his priority. A man of few words, he was a people person and was loved by all. We are so fortunate to have our wonderful memories of him. He was our Gentle Giant. A Celebration of his Life will be take place on Saturday, April 5th at Fraserview Village Hall, 22610 116th Avenue in Maple Ridge at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to The Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House Vancouver, or an animal shelter of your choice.
