POITRA Anna Augusta 1983-2014 Anna Augusta Poitra of Red Deer passed away on January 22nd, 2014 at the age of 30. Anna is lovingly remembered by her father Chris Poitra of Red Deer; two daughters Shila and Azabell Poitra of Red Deer, and their father Berry Ross; her brother EJ (Danielle) Poitra of Innisfail; sisters, Mariann (Mark) Poitra of Red Deer and Teresa Booth of Red Deer. She is survived by her nephews Dean Poitra, Colin Walls, Steven Stammers, Eduard Booth and Kailen Poitra and her nieces Kimberly Walls, Brittany Walls, Brandy Walls, Terri Joe Smoker, Fancy Rae Poitra, Kyah Poitra and Aaliyah Poitra, as well as five great nieces and three great nephews. Anna is predeceased by her mother Ursel Poitra (July 19, 2011). A celebration of life officiated by Reverend Gail McEwen will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on February 5th, 2014 at 2:00 pm with cremation to follow. If you would like to pay your respects to Anna there will be a public visitation from 12:00-1:45pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers a trust fund will be set up for Anna’s two daughters, please contact Rev. Gail McEwen. WHITNEY 1931 - 2014 It is with heavy hearts and happy memories that we announce the passing of Donald George Whitney. Don passed away in Red Deer, Alberta on February 1st, 2014 at the age of 83. Don was born in Consort, Alberta January 10, 1931 to Ray and Jessie Whitney. Don embraced an active and full life enjoying his family, his work and his leisure. He was loved by many and lit up the room with his smile and dreamy blue eyes. Don is survived by his four children, Cheryl (Gordon) Blonke, Brenda (Robert) Claude, Dwayne (Sue) Whitney, Cindy (Troy) Pugh, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was predeceased by his wife Gladys, his parents, and his sister Shirley Knockleby. There will be a memorial tribute in Don’s honour held on February 8, 2014 at 2pm at Legacy Estates, 56 Carroll Crescent, Red Deer, Alberta and a Celebration of his Life will take place in May of 2014 (details to follow).
