Celebrating Prince Rupert’s diversity Martina Perry / The Northern View
People of all ethnic backgrounds gathered at the Museum of Northern B.C. on Nov. 24 for a celebration of multicultural diversity. The afternoon included not only displays of different cultures, but was the launch of Hecate Strait’s Book of Rainbows. Clockwise: Many in attendance took the opportunity to show off some of their culture’s clothing; Nantida Weaver and Arunne Spiller were handing out yummy Thai dessert at the multicultural expo; Lillian Zahrai, 10, performed a Persian dance; Randi Johansen, left, and Trudy and Hank Gelowinski of the Sons of Norway - Vinland Lodge 28 were among members of the many Prince Rupert cultural clubs that attended the event.
