BRULE Sharon
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Sharon passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 1 in Chilliwack at the age of 65. Sharon is survived by her husband Remie (Ray) of 45 years, her two daughters Camille (Peter), Nicole (Steve), her seven grandchildren Adriana (Spencer), Christy (Patric), Nathaniel (Krystal), Zachary, Owen (Montana), Amanda, and Rhianna, and her two great grandchildren Madison and Joshua, and her brother Jerry (Andrea). She was predeceased by her mother Johanna Halliday and her in-laws Jerry and Jill Brule. Sharon was a long time resident of Agassiz were she was a Girl Guide leader and a Lady of the Royal Purple. Sharon lived her family dearly and spent lots off time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr Macintosh, her doctor of 30 years for everything he did to make her last days comfortable. W would like to thank NU5 at Chilliwack hospital and Cascade Hospice for making mom’s last two days very peaceful. A funeral service will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Agassiz on Friday May 10 at 11a.m. Prayers the night before, Thursday May 9 at 7 p.m. Donations to Children’s Hospital oncology ward in lieu of flowers.
COLWELL HARRIS Vivian Alce
Vivian was born in Mission, BC on August 16, 1919 and passed away peacefully in COLWELL HARRIS her sleep on April 25, 2013. She will be sadly missed by her son Don Colwell (Kerry); daughter, Louise Bogunovic (John); sister, Doris McTaggart; grandchildren: Paul, Rory, Laura, Leah, John and Robert; several greatgrandchildren; and was predeceased by husband Dave Harris. Mom loved skiing, golf, lawn and carpet bowling, dancing, gardening, camping, swimming, fishing, and animals of all kinds. She was an outgoing, gentle and thoughtful soul who suffered from dementia during her last years, but never forgot family and close friends. Her family celebrated Vivian’s life in a private gathering but wish to give heartfelt thanks to The Waverly Seniors Village for their excellent care over the past four months. Woodlawn Mt. November 20, 1931 April 22, 2013 After a lengthy illness Ken passed peacefully at Surrey Hospital. Survived by his wife Myrna, children Dixie, Debra (William Gilmore), Stephanie (Vernon Eckstein) Stephen (Tina) grandchildren Bryan, Virginia (Dan Hilliard and Hunter), Christina, Keegan and Chrissy. Cremation and a private family internment are planned at Ken’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Lung Association would be appreciated.
GENTRAY Moneca
nee Delphine Poirtas March 29, 1949 May 4, 2013 Moneca passed peacefully with loved ones by her side in the afternoon of May 4th. GENTRAY Moneca had a full life, filled with wonderful friends and family. For those who knew her well, they would all agree she had a high spirit and heart of gold. She dedicated her life between her business as a well-known hair stylist, her children, her partner and her friends. After several months her courageous battle with cancer has come to an end and she has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She is survived by her partner, Larry Oesch, her brother Pat (Dulcie) Rogers, her sister, Mary Stewart, and her children, Jonni, Mike, Juhli (Michael) and Loraie (Ryan) and her grandchildren, Kathrin, Haily, Logan, Trinity, David, Nyah, Madelaine, Lily and Chloe and many other Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nephews and Nieces. LARSON Bryan Gilfred
We regret to announce the sudden death of Bryan Gilfred Larson, born March 15, 1966 and passed LARSON away April 29, 2013 in Vancouver, BC. He will be dearly missed by mother, Adrienne (Garth) Campbell; father, Orville Larson, older brother Leonard (Wendy) Larson and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by infant brother, Lesley Phillip; cousin Don Price and Oma (Beulah Reid). His passions were snow skiing, basketball and hiking. He had a great love for nature and working with young people. He loved the ocean, swimming and waterskiing.
As a preteen, he enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Chilliwack Sea Cadet Corp. He had an easy, contagious laugh and sense of humour. Bryan left a positive impression on everyone. A memorial will be held at North Shore Alliance Church, 201 East 23rd St., Vancouver, BC., Pastor Dave Sadler officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Shore Alliance Church would be appreciated.
MACKAY Margaret “Peggy” Doris
It is with great sadness the children of Margaret “Peggy” Doris Mackay announce Mom MACKAY passed away on April 30, 2013 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 78 years. Mom was born November 1, 1934 in Premier BC She is survivied by her 5 children Danny (Jackie), Ron (Marlene), Wendy (Tony), Linda (Alan) and Susan Mom had 8 Grand children Leanne (Ted), Heather (Ryan), Tyler (Angela), Katrina, Stephanie (Cam), Cassy (Emilio), Stephen (Tatiana) and Spencer. Mom had 4 Great Grand Daughters, Brooklyn, Tori, Avery and Kenzie She was predeaced by her Husband Don Mackay in 1995, also her parents George & Thirza Deasty, Step mother Olive Deasty, sister Betty and brother Stan. Mom was a wonderful Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Aunt, Great Aunt, Sister in law, cousin and friend to many. She worked as a nurses aide for many years starting in her younger days at the TB hospital in Vancouver, also at Glenwood Hospital in Agassiz and Extended Care at Chilliwack Hospital. When Mom retired she volunteered at the hospital with the service league for many years. Mom first priority was always her family she was the most loving and caring mother and grandma. She loved to bake, cook family dinners, garden, casinos, prior to our Dad passing away they loved to camp and fish and also she loved to Cruise with her travelling partner Ethel. Mom moved back to Agassiz a year ago to the beautiful Cheam Village, Mom loved living there with her friends and loved all the amazing Staff. MURRAY MORRIS MORRISON NICKERSON Alvin (Nick) Walter David William (Bill) Audrey Nick Nickerson passed Major (Retired), O.M.M., C.D. December 26, 1934 Delores away on May 2, 2013 at Cas8th Canadian Hussars May 1, 2013 (Princess Louise’s) Walter was born on Christmas forenoon 1932 to Murdo Ewan Murray and Edythe E u p h e m i a MURRAY Murray (nee MacDonald) on the family farm, Township of Whitton, Province of Quebec. He was the fifth in a family of three boys and three girls. He traced his Scottish ancestry through Hebridian forebears from the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. He died the morning of May 3, 2013 in grace and bravery. Walter is survived by his dear wife Nancy, by his son Pierre and wife Rolanda and grandson Aidan of whom he was immensely proud. His brother George and wife Phyllis, his sisters Mavis Curtis, Hazel Brunt and Alene Welch along with nieces and nephews greatly mourn his passing as do his in-laws Mary and Meehan Bonnar. Walter was predeceased by his first wife, Major Claudette Lamontagne Murray, C.D., R.N., his parents and his older brother Lennox. Walter was an Officer of the Order of Military Merit and holder of the Canadian Forces Decoration with two clasps. During his thirty-one years in the Canadian Forces he saw service in the Congo, Egypt and Cyprus on United Nations peacekeeping duties as well as in Canada and the United States. Walter was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a Life Member of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows and a Past District Chief, Sons of Scotland Benevolent Association. The Family wishes to thank Dr. Chin-yee and the Staff members of the London Regional Cancer Program and Dr. Haffner and the Staff members of the ICU, Stratford General Hospital for their exemplary care and support. Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 street west of Main) on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. There will be a Legion Service in the funeral home on Monday afternoon at 3:30 PM and an Odd Fellows Service at 6:30 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. John’s By The Lake Anglican Church, 70642 Bluewater Highway, South Huron (Highway #21-North of Grand Bend) on Tuesday, May 7th at 11 AM with the Reverend Father Grayhame Bowcott officiating. Interment St. Marys Cemetery. It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved William (Bill) on May 1, 2013 MORRIS at the age of 78 in the Chilliwack General Hospital. He was a loving husband of 2 children and 2 grandchildren. He farmed near MacGregor razing cattle and mixed grain, and was a municipal councilor for many years. Bill retired and moved to Chilliwack, B.C. 17 years ago from Manitoba to be with this soul mate and partner. He enjoyed cribbage, dancing, gardening, and playing bingo. Bill also enjoyed driving his lawn mower, maintaining his yard, relaxing with his old cat “Toby”, and going for drives in his truck. In September of 2011, he was diagnosed with kidney disease and congested heart failure, although he fought a courageous battle, he is now at peace. Special thanks to all the Drs and nurses at the Renal Clinic in Abbotsford, and the Abbotsford and Chilliwack Hospital staff. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Bill’s residence on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2:00pm, all who knew are him welcome. It friends so desire, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Nick is survived by his sister, Vera Besler, sister in law, Molly Nickerson, nephews and nieces, Glen (Kathy), Wayne, Julie (Pat), Colleen (John), Russell, Debbie (Steve) and great nephews and nieces, Kevin, Abby and Anna. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Harold and Annie Nickerson and brother Reg Nickerson. Nick spent most of his life in Chilliwack, living in Slesse Park. He enjoyed helping and doing jobs with his backhoe for his friend and neighbours. Nick always enjoyed a cup of coffee and to BS with his friends. So have a cup for him. We would like to thank everyone at Cascade Lodge for taking such great care of Nick, especially the nurses on the First Floor There is no service by request.
