Born in Ontario, Edwards grew up in the rural Canadian prairies through the time of The Great Depression in the 1930s. Although times were challenging, she enjoyed her family and living on the land. As a teen full of eagerness, she moved to a larger community to attend high school in preparation for a career as a nurse. Not long after, at the age of16, she experienced a trauma that lurched her onto a tumultuous ride through life. Her life story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and its ability to find hope and joy even through the most trying of circumstances. She has lived in Kelowna

Volunteers offer tax filing services to assist seniors
There is help available for seniors looking for assistance in filing their tax returns this year. Registered Canada Revenue Agency volunteers will be available at the Seniors Outreach & Resource Centre, 2055 Benvoulin Crt., in Kelowna from now until April 29, Mondays and Fridays, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m, and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon.
