Wednesday, Dec. 5 was the day of the Cranbrook and District Chamber of Commerce’s annual turkey drive. The goal this year was to get at least $20,000 pledged during the one-day drive, enough to provide a Christmas dinner for 750 local families. As of press time, results weren’t available, but all accounts indicate it was a great success. Certain brave souls like Townsman Editor Barry Coulter made colorful appearances at the roadsides and on the streets to remind passers-by to make their pledges.
