A BOUQUET to the lady who thanked us with a bouquet for the return of her purse to Wal-Mart. We feel appreciated and it was nice to be recognized as an angel. We are glad to have made your day happier. A BOUQUET to the ladies out there – you are the pretty flowers of humanity. A PLUG for whistles. Keep one in your pocket or purse, it can be very useful in emergencies. A BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU BOUQUET to Eye Care Nanaimo on Bowen Road for fixing my glasses. The arm was broken and a helpful employee found a spare and mounted it for no charge. You will have our business in the future. A BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET OF ROSES to the Young Professionals of Nanaimo for organizing the painting of the old A&B Sound building downtown and to all of the volunteers who helped with the project. It looks great. A SUMMER BOUQUET to Sandra for hauling my bicycle to the shop in her truck and to Hank for fixing it so quickly. MANY THANKS from a senior to whoever found my keys on a purple, coiled wrist band and put them in the mail. An outdated War Amps tag was on the chain, but they were able to trace me and return my keys. A FIELD FULL OF PUMPKINS to the nice lady behind the counter at Fairway Market. She was cheerful and helpful beyond the call of duty.

A HUGE BOUQUET to Const. Mike Ramsey for your caring and compassion during the loss of our loved one. This duty is well beyond "to serve and protect." THANK YOU to Casino Nanaimo, paramedics and Nanaimo Regional General Hospital emergency staff who showed kindness and compassion for our mom, who suddenly and unexpectedly passed away recently. Also A ROSE to the lady who offered help.

A FLAVOURFUL BOUQUET to Bada Bing pizzeria on Wakesiah Avenue for the delicious food. Good pizza, good prices. From a new customer. A DISNEY BOUQUET to Kari at Sears Travel for your exceptional service in booking our trip to L.A.

A BOUQUET to Raymond at Fair Trade Home Improvements for doing such a fantastic job renovating our washroom. Despite the hidden issues found upon demolition, he stayed true to his quote. This level of professionalism and perfection is seldom seen in contractors. I highly recommend him. THANKS to the volunteers and supporters for the supper I received one recent Friday night at St. Paul's Anglican Church. It was good and much appreciated.

BIG BOUQUETS to all our relatives, friends and neighbours who donated to and helped set up our B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation charity garage sale. We raised $466 with proceeds going to childhood cancer research. Also thanks to the Comox Fire Department for loaning us tables to display our assortment of treasures. A BOUQUET to the city for the new bus benches. All that I have seen have been on a pad except the one on Dover Road at Applecross Road. Why is this one on the sidewalk where people have to walk around it?

A BOUQUET to the man on the bike who helped my son and I when we had to swerve and brake suddenly to avoid being hit by a truck on the corner of the Parkway and Northfield Road. Many thanks F to for calling the ambulance. A BEEF the truck driver, who didn't even get out of his truck, but just drove away. A BIG, STINKY BEEF F to the lady who stole my mom’s purse and, after taking all the money, scattered the contents in the forest. What goes around comes around. A BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET to the two wonderful homeless people who took the time to gather the contents from her purse and return it to her promptly.

A SMOKY PILE OF BEEF F to some traffic control staff. I have seen two different ladies smoking cigarettes while directing traffic. Not only is it a fire hazard, but it also looks unprofessional to passersby. Do you not have a rule stating no smoking on the job? A BEEF F to intrusive service companies. One wants me to change my cable service. Another one wants me to change my phone services. I have said no over the phone and thrown away the information I receive in the mail. Someone even came to my door. What part of 'no' do these people not understand? A BEEF F to the human who sent in a totally fabricated bouquet two weeks ago, trying to pretend it was from his/her dog or cat. I know your pet didn't really write the message because animals don't have opposable thumbs, rational thoughts or souls.

A BOUQUET to Kal Tire on Norwell Drive. I took my car in for a tire repair and they did that plus an overall check on my car. I was told it was no charge and a carnation was on my seat. Thanks for the great service.

A BEEF F to a waitress at a north Nanaimo restaurant. Ever heard of washing your hands? A BEEF. The other day I called the city's animal control department to come pick up a friendly dog with no tags that was wandering around Maffeo Sutton Park. They told me they pick up this dog at least three times a month. I was heartbroken that this poor animal continues to suffer, so I told the animal control employee that I would just find him a good home, but they had to take him. A GIANT PILE OF BEEF F to a restaurant for getting our order wrong and then telling us that they didn't believe it was wrong. The owner told us that it was policy to not refund anything to unhappy clients regardless of the reason. We were upset with how we were treated by both management and the owner. A BEEF. My wife and I took our grandchildren to a Nanaimo Clippers game recently. When the game ended, we forgot our blue seat cushions with the Penticton Vees logo – we moved to Nanoose Bay from Penticton three years ago – and our names on them. When we went back to get them, they were gone. If you found them or know who has them, please turn them in to arena management or call us at 250-4687981. From Jim and Dale Garrett.

A BEEF F to the lady who borrowed a tool from our store to retrieve her keys from her locked car. After remaining open well past closing time, you never bothered to return it before driving away. Shame on you. A BEEF F to the person who found my Marianne book bag containing my music and did not turn it in. Please return it to the caretaker upstairs at the German clubhouse. A BEEF F to people who take their old dogs on difficult hikes in the mountains. Would you take a 90year-old person up Mount Benson? It's the same for dogs. The dog I saw was clearly in distress. Next time leave it at home, or go for an easier hike. A BEEF F to the store employee who followed me around just because I walked in with a hood on. It was cold outside. AN E. COLI BEEF F to all the people worried about a tiny bit of tainted beef. Oh no! You might get E. coli poisoning and then you'll only have a 99.5 per cent chance of survival. Let's all chill out.

This Week’s Winner SANDRA BEST wins a bouquet from Turley’s Florist.
